Rear spoiler......Yes or No?
Hey guys.....I'm still debating whether or not to get a rear spoiler installed in my CY 370Z. I like the way the Z looks with the spoiler but is it worth the money and is washing and waxing around it going to be a real pain? Should I leave well enough alone? I really can't decide. I'm interested to see how many of you like the looks with the spoiler or without. I'm hoping your votes will help me make my decision. Thanks!

I got mine for wingtech and paid $139 shipped and painted brilliant silver.
Install was done by the 3M tape and screws they provide. However I didn't drill mine. Do it! Theres no pain. Washing and waxing it is no problem. |

So far only 10 votes but 84 views :shakes head: Come on guys....pick one or the other! I need at least 50 votes with 90% either way to make a decision. Thanks!

Yes on the spoiler. No it's not really a pain when waxing. The rear looks to round without one.
|
Hey I'm the first "no" vote! :ugh2:
I personally prefer clean lines at the back. I got the sports package though, I sometimes wish I could remove the spoiler or maybe switch hatches with somebody. |

To ME, the car has a GREAT āss and a nice set of hips, but without a spoiler, it's a bit ruined. I don't like the hatch line leveling off a bit. If it was more curved like a Porch, I'd like it without a spoiler... Spoiler FTW |
Really just depends on what look your going for. Sporty or clean and flush. But the sport wing almost allways looks good
|
Ever see a Manx cat, the ones without the tail? That honestly is what I subconsciously envision when I see a 370Z without a spoiler. I really feel like a spoiler needs to be there.
Of course, if we all liked the same thing, we'd all have the same thing. |

I wish i had the spoiler , but the wingless look is pretty clean. Base model crew

No offense to the non-spoiler guys among us, but personally I don't like the look of it without a spoiler. Looks like something is missing to me. Like it fell off or something. :)

For our Canary Yellow friend though, matching CY, low-profile wing FTW. :icon17: |

89.29% for Yes Spoiler after 28 votes. Looks like it's going to be a close call!
|
Regarding your poll, most owners who have a spoiler will vote yes and those that don't will most likely vote no.
Maybe this might help, a couple of co-workers (non Z owners) who have seen my car made this comment. "The spoiler & rims really make the car, the other Z's without the spoiler looks bare". I also believe that having a spoiler on at time of resale will make it more attractive to a potential buyer than one that doesn't. |
factory spoiler + mine's cf lip.
|
I have seen some nice setups without the spoiler...but I just think the spoiler completes the Z

There are a lot of people with spoilers that have looked for hatch swaps, and :iagree: that a spoiler will help resale value as well |
Definately spoiler, without it just has that big ugly butt look.

to the OP, i agree with a couple of other posters that without the spoiler it just looks like something is missing. so the sport spoiler or the sport + add on spoiler look best to me. however, i can't stand the high wing spoilers like the nismo or amuse (one of the reasons i could never get an sti/evo). just personal preference so no offense to those with them. :tiphat: |

The 370Z is one of the very few cars I prefer the looks of with a spoiler vs none. |
mine came without a spoiler... that eBay spoiler was the first thing I bought. And everyone loved it. But Now I have a Amuse Wing lol. I say spoiler for sure!
|
I voted yes! But you should get the EVO-R High wing!
|
Definitely a fan of the rear spoiler - it would have been the first mod if Sport package wasn't already one of my requirements.

I'm going Amuse in a year. I also have to pay an extra $80 for shipping on top of the $140 you Americans pay.
I still got the spoiler. :) |
YES. I would get like a APR GTC 300 with a gurney flap and you'll be good.
|
My buddy and I are going to make a proper spoiler for this car hopefully this year. I don't like any of the ones offered right now. I just wouldn't drill holes in that nice 370 *** for any of the currently offered rear wings.
|
I voted yes but only if you're gonna keep it stock.
If you want to modify the exterior down the line, I'd say wait so you won't have to worry about covering the holes in your hatch. |
No spoiler here. Not a question of money or ease with waxing (have it done). I just prefer the rich and full look of the Z's back end without complicating it with the spoiler. The crease at the top of the hatch serves the purpose. I've ordered or added spoilers for most of my other cars. I usually like the look. But not on the Z---for me. As it is said, though, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." So go with whatever makes you smile the widest.
|
I like the stock spoiler for the coupe - but as I have a roadster there is not a lot out there. I was a simple, subtle lip spoiler.
I guess i'll have to try my had at fiber glass at some point. :stirthepot: |
A car without a spoiler is like brazilian. Smooth and no downforce. Seriously though, the Z needs one.
|
I like it better without the spoiler there. Just like the lines better.
|
I enjoy the lines without the spoiler, it just flows so nicely in my eyes.
I thought about buying one when I first purchased Big Booty Judy, but in the end couldn't pull the trigger and I am happy I didn't! Can't call her Big Booty Judy if the booty is ruined (in my opinion) with a spoiler.:tiphat: http://i42.tinypic.com/33lgw2t.jpg |

If they can get the paint to match, go for the spoiler.
