Sold my R33 Skyline GT-R and picked up my 370z.

Long story...I was stationed in Japan and bought my GT-R there. Brought it with me to my next duty station in Belgium. I'm moving back to the states next year. Too much to risk trying to get it back to the states :(

I had a '11 Subaru WRX STi. Bought it brand new and thought I would love to drive it, but, as it turns out, it was just fast and it didn't feel like a driver's car. Before the STi i had a 2008 Lexus IS-F, which I loved, but times were tough then. And before the IS-F, I had a Porsche Cayman and before the Cayman, I had a 2004 Nissan 350Z. Needless to say, I started with a 350Z and now I'm back in a 370Z! Something about a Z that just makes you want to drive it! Puts a smile on my face every time!

2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited.

Bought it brand new in January. It was a "practical - luxury" car purchase. It had heated leather seats, Navi, panoramic sunroof.

After about 6 months my neighbour asked me how I liked my car and I just kinda gave them a blank stare. There wasn't anything BAD I could say about the car, but there wasn't anything GOOD I could say about the car either.

So I had been thinking that this car purchase was a mistake, but to be practical I should own it for a minimum of 3 years. My wife made a comment a few days later about seeing one of those "370" cars in the parking lot and "man, that is one nice looking car". So I commented, "I guess it wouldnt be against the law to trade in the Hyundai for one". 2 weeks later I am driving a 2013 370Z.:ughdance:

LOL, such similar paths we took to the Z'dom!

I traded my 2011 Sonata SE with 74,000 miles on her! She was a nice reliable and functional car, but like you, I didn't buy the car other than to be practical

Thanks...Loved the 350Z but it was Kinda plain. The 370Z Sport/Touring is sickly sweet.

And the Z/28 I have had since 1983...Almost 30 years, and just modified the Heck out of it...

Yeah many people who have 350s switch to 370s as its the older brother. 3 of my friends have 350z and they always kid about how the 370z isnt that much different, then we do a lil spirited driving and their minds change faster than lightning.

AS for the Z/28

I had a 2001 Eclipse GT. I bought it new in 2001 and in the 10+ years I had it I only put a little over 64,000 miles on it. It was a fun little car, and I enjoyed driving it. Since I have had the Z, I haven't missed my Eclipse once. :)

DvrDwn 11-05-2012 03:50 PM

I was driving a 2000 Nissan Altima until I hydroplaned and slammed it into a guardrail. Decided it was finally time to drive a "real" car.

Going from a 280Z to a 300ZX was a big deal for me 20 years ago...Then I went from the white 1990 300ZX to a white 2004 350Z and that was a big deal.

The 350 was really nice, brutally quick and handled great, and way better than any Z before it, but the 370Z is just super sweet.

It is so much nicer is so many ways...

And the old school/new school Z/28 is a bit of old technology wrapped with modern suspension, steering and brakes..Kinda went crazy on the Hotchkis, Willwood, ect...But well worth it..

Part of my youth that I cannot part with...

Oh man...It started with a 240Z back in the 1980's...Brown, and then painted it white.

Drove a 20th anniversary 280ZX, the Gold and Black edition, and then a Red first generation 300Z... Too many to count.

Always been into the Datsun Z , because it reminded me of the Z/28. Short tail, and long nose and they handled great..

I must be a Nissan/Datsun junkie....EDIT. I am a Nissan/Datsun Junkie...
