It is tuner friendly

I'm not hat'n, but I'd have to agree; especially if you have owned other "sports cars."

Don't get married... Unless you plan on driving your Z into a tree as headache medicine.
I think in your case that's 2 birds one stone?

Meh...get married, its a good time.

However people shouldnt make the same mistake as me if they want a low end torque monster. I should of known my driving situation but i really didnt expect 12-13mpg. If you're going to get that you may as well get a powerful V8. Its not like i hit the canyons everyday.

Sounds to me like you just need some self-discipline. Why do you have to beat every car off the line, anyway? Either race the guy or just ignore him. I beat cars off the line all the time without going past 4K RPMs, but when that Camry or V6 Accord floors it, I typically don't bother unless I need in their lane.

Btw, you keep talking about how V6 Accords are as fast as this car - I drove a 2004 V6 Accord 6MT (250 hp 180 tq) for the first year of Z ownership, and it never came close to the Z regardless whether we launch from stop or rolling. That's with me driving the Accord and my wife driving the Z. It's not a contest, so I'll thank you to stop making those comparisons. Yes, when you don't want to rev past 4K RPMs, a V6 sedan at WOT will likely pass you. Do something about it (go WOT and you'll easily smoke them) or just deal with it (ignore them) :ugh2:

I don't want to live on this planet anymore. We got people saying a Honda civic shifts better than a Z....

A Z can pass a V8 car easily, it all depends on the road and the drivers :)

Here's my Z chasing down two Corvettes. The first one spins out, and then I have to ride the other's bumper for a quite a while waiting for a pass. He thinks he can finally get away on the straight, but then the next pair of corners eats up all his gains...

My point isn't that our cars corner better than 'Vettes. It's that the driver is way more important than the car.

I don't know about a Honda Civic, but I will say the Honda Accord 6MT I owned had an incredibly smooth clutch. To compare it to the Z's clutch is to compare crisco to sandpaper. However, I don't have any problems with the Z clutch. It's louder and rougher, which seems appropriate because the Z is too.

Words to live by...

Tell that to my friend who e-mailed me that list. He was trying to stick it to me for buying the Z, instead of the Viper I was looking at. That the owner raised the price on me by $15,000 at the last minute.

Think you need some time alone for some self-inflected sex. :nutswinger: :D

nice driving! I think this really shows the strength of the Nissan. Straight line racing, sure it can hold its own.... its respectible. But throug it into the corners and I think we see our "purpose built" sports car really shine. This is much like the Porsche Carrera; it's not that impressive on straight line 1/4 drags. For the $, you could build a subi to run it down now problem. Throw that same Carrera on the track with turns, good luck keeping up as that's what its meant for. Love the video and thanks for all the effort to take it and post it.

Very true if you have every actually been on a race track. Skill has a lot to do with it.

But still, it's the driver more than the car, even in a Carrera. At my most recent track event, I passed a couple of Carreras, and I was also passed by at least one Miata (I don't recall if the other ever passed me, but he was running pretty dead even with me overall I think). I'm just not gonna post the "Miata overtakes Z" video, because that's just embarrassing :)
