Red 370 State Trooper Profiling

The red on the Z really is a beautiful color, but any of you guys with red got pulled over because it's red...I was driving about 80mph in my Z on the Interstate, and i could see the Red Z for what seemed like miles away.

eddieconfetti 07-21-2009 06:40 PM

i also heard that white has the same issue.

whoady4shoady 07-21-2009 06:49 PM

Yellow and Red will always be the worst. Red of course is the worst.

idk, i did have a local cop turn around a follow me when i was driving thru some hole in the wall town where the speed limit with from 65-25 mph.

nogoodname 07-21-2009 07:14 PM

yellow is a too in the face colour followed by red & blue.

black gets attention also

Cjanik 07-21-2009 07:16 PM

red is officially the worst.

We had a chart showing what color cars were being pulled over on average over the years and red was through the roof.

it had to do with the personality (speeders) of the drivers and the color cars they liked.

nogoodname 07-21-2009 07:21 PM

how did the other colours result in??

link?

tonmed123 07-21-2009 07:22 PM

I heard the same thing...Lucky me. I got RED.

Supergoji 07-21-2009 07:23 PM

i would think black got it the least or silver.

nogoodname 07-21-2009 07:26 PM

silver is the friendly one

TARDCORE 07-21-2009 07:29 PM

the same reason why poles in parking lots or on sidewalks have bright color bands around them so you don't hit them. They just catch your eye. I think the state troopers.. or in cali they are called CHP i guess are just jellous that they don't own a sports car themselves. And the ones that I know of that do don't really car unless you are doing something really dumb.

nogoodname 07-21-2009 07:32 PM

over here it's winter 6 months of the year. so whites & silvers blend in LOL

anything else stands out

TARDCORE 07-21-2009 07:36 PM

Jesus... 6 months. I went to northern utah for my senior yr of highschool and it snowed for about 6 months as well. complete utter hell. i think i spelled utter wrong

shabarivas 07-21-2009 07:43 PM

White appears fastest and black appears slowest... hence i picked black :p

drdre8424 07-21-2009 07:43 PM

this car and winter dont mix i think...it'll be a lot like the Porsche that guy was driving in Just Friends...can u imagine chains around those 19" tires!

nogoodname 07-21-2009 07:50 PM

ok, chain on tires are illegal here.

we're not hill billies LOL

rear wheel drive is not bad in winters, its not all about the car. it's about the driving skills !!!

Educ8r 07-21-2009 08:01 PM

Do you have any idea how ludicrous that question is?

tru_Asiatik 07-21-2009 08:06 PM

red cars seems like they get pulled over more because as said it attracts or gets the attention the most
red in general just catches the eye
in a parking lot(and or freeways) in a crowd of black/silver/green cars
bright colors will stand out

so if youre one of the lucky ones with a bright color car cops will notice you more and your SOL if your doing something stupid like speeding

I'd have to agree with him. I'd also like to see this statistic about "colored" cars being pulled over more frequently. Why does there have to be so much hate against us "colored" folk?! :stirthepot:

TARDCORE 07-21-2009 08:09 PM

haha you also have to take into consideration... cop may be havin a bad day? any aftermarket parts that can be seen/heard. and location

nogoodname 07-21-2009 08:15 PM

is it true insurance premiums are higher for red cars when compared to lets say silver cars.

GingaBreadMan 07-21-2009 08:19 PM

That's y I got Brilliant Silver. I didn't want anything 2 ostentatious.

LOL! My insurance never asked for the color of my car. Just make/model/VIN. I've owned two red cars, silver, grey, and now a yellow one, so i would have to say that is completely false.

Cjanik 07-21-2009 08:20 PM

I dont have a link to anything, this was years ago.

Educ8r 07-21-2009 08:20 PM

I had a red 944 Turbo, and I basically got harassed by the cops. It was ridiculous. I had one pull me over and admitted he had no reason to, but he just wanted to make sure all my tags were up to date. Total BS!

Obviously your not going to get pulled over because your car is red, if you had kept reading you would have realized the point i was making was that the car is extremely visible down the road, and if you were doing something THAT WOULD GET YOU PULLED OVER you would probably get pulled over. Does that clear things up, or what?

All sports cars suffer the state and local police and sheriff profiling issues, not just the Z. They do what they do because it is what it is...easy and consistent revenue.

Educ8r 07-21-2009 09:58 PM

No, it doesn't.

I think they can tell the color by the VIN.

Cjanik 07-22-2009 12:09 AM

^^ no they cant

Florida_GATOR 07-22-2009 02:02 AM

Mostly irrelevant, but i drove around a BRIGHT YELLOW H1 for about 3.5 years and i was always getting pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol for "Random Vehicle Inspections".:shakes head: Record: 4 stops in a 3 hour span. :owned:

armensti 07-22-2009 02:46 AM

black is beautiful

Had a Red Supercharged RSX for 3 years.

0 Tickets

Pulled over 2 times and got warnings, I was nice to teh cops and they returned the favor.

Fortunate I guess.

Ohh yeah, blew by a Cop @ 145. He caught up minutes later, got behind me.......ran my plates.......and nothing. Just kept going. My heart was through my chest, I thought I was going to jail for sure. I actually think it was so fast he never got to see exactly what the car looked like or he was looking down not paying attention. Last time I went street racing. Been about 18 months now.

nogoodname 07-22-2009 01:13 PM

either ways, bright colours are an attention grabber & some cops will find excuses to pull over.

just drive normally is the moral here.

TX_370 07-22-2009 01:18 PM

I have a white one and havent really gotten much attention from cops *knocksonwood*
