hmm... looks like my car was built before yours. 40 is staying the same meaning the last 4 digits are the actual production number. Pic came from Service manual.

A thread was started on a 993 forum once looking for VIN numbers. It was sort of fun finding cars that were close to your build date.

On myg37 it was annoying for some ppl that had a car with a newer vin and the tsb was for older vins.
