How long should this project take??!!
Things to get done:
- Front Lip (Paint/Install) - Front Hood Scoop (Paint/Install) - Rear Body Scoops (Paint/Install) - High Wing (Paint/Install) - Wheels (Paint) - Angel Eye Headlights (Install) - Taillights (Tint) My body guy has been holding onto my car for nearly a month now and i'm starting to believe that he's just working slow. If I had known he would take this long I would have taken it somewhere else  Anyhow, pics will be up soon! :) Transformation from stock to my masterpiece all at once! |

This should be in the tech area exterior department. Sorry

The body scoops scare me a bit. Hard to imagine what those would look like.
A months is a long time to paint and install practically stick-on items like scoops and a lip. Installation should be simple. I don't know the time necessary to paint parts, but it should be a simple job for a body shop. Painting wheels is a straightforward process as well. Tint usually just takes a couple hours. Installing angel eyes may take 4-10 hours depending on how he opens the lights and how well he knows how everything disassembles. Perhaps he isn't just working on your car though. Maybe just a couple hours per day? That could explain why it'd take a month. |
As a body shop one guy should only work on one car at a time unless your waitng on parts. So if you have five guys, that's five cars. This is the only method where production gets done. So that being said no more than week.

Just say no to stick on hood anything

All I see is the hood scoop detaching at speed because it's acting like an air catcher.

It would be pretty sweet if they would mold that scoop on the hood and made a hole for the air to go in the engine.

Sounds like he is taking the car out for a couple joy rides instead of working on it.
- Front Lip (Paint/Install) Paint 1-2 Days. Install 1 hr. - Front Hood Scoop (Paint/Install) Paint 1-2 Days. Install 15 Minutes. - Rear Body Scoops (Paint/Install)Paint 1-2 Days. 1 hr. - High Wing (Paint/Install)Paint 1-2 Days. Install 2-3 hrs. - Wheels (Paint)- 1 Day For Paint-30 Minutes For Plasi-dip - Angel Eye Headlights (Install)Install 2 Hours. - Taillights (Tint)1-2 Hours The work if done by one person should only take around two to three business days.. You really aren't getting anything significant done other then paint which takes awhile to dry and the high wing which is a longer install because drilling, etc.. |

Hey bluebird, what 'rear body scoops' did you get? If you got the one Unknown_370 posted, I really suggest you just don't put those on. Even if you did pay for it. Even if the guy already painted it and taped it on your car, I suggest you call and ask him to remove it. Or just use dental floss or fishing string yourself depending on how he attached it.
The ONLY way those rear scoops should ever be on a car is if you deleted your AC unit and need air ducting into your car during track events, which would require removing that rear quarter window. As for the hood scoop, maybe make it functional to get less bad rep by cutting a hole in the hood to let air actually go through the air scoop, and remove or cut some of the plastic that is under the windshield wipers to let air flow and cool the engine. |

Some of us have ALLOT done to our car's you just can't see it.:icon17:

I'm all for watching sticky tape body kits... and their imminent failure. Mustang inspired body kits are a poor aesthetic choice for a Z. We don't see Mustangs with a fang mod. Food for thought man.
|
Bro, you're getting tough love from people who love the car. You should just start with a nice front lip and call it a day for now.
|
This calls for a build thread. That also simultaneously functions as a part out thread. On account of parts slowly falling off and OP going back to stock entropy style. If anything it would be extremely unique.

Some of those who posts a reply that you don't like are actually hardcore 'moddies'... they about mods in a very good ways. We just wanna offer you some advice that.... when you show off your Z, people on the street will actually respect your mods instead of laughing at your mods at your back. Of course, at the end of the day, it's your Z and it's your money and nobody in here can control how you're going mod your Z. We're just whole bunch of Zers in this forum trying to offer you some advice that you won't go with a wrong way and regret in the future. If you feel offended, just don't take it the wrong way, we don't hate you or your Z. We just hate some manufactures that makes some so-called "mod-part", sell it at a high price but totally useless, and the part might even have a chance to cause dangers on the road. Take it easy buddy... :tiphat::tiphat: |
It takes however long the fast and the furious cars took to be made for those movies.

Now i honestly dont know you are just trolling or you are actually serious about what you just said.. :shakes head: |
C'mon now..can't you guys think of something positive to say?
Little Johnny came home from school one day & his dad asked him " Johnny, how did you do on your arithmetic test?" Johnny answered, "Dad, I'm afraid I might have failed my test." Dad said, " Johnny, that's negative! You have to think positive!." Little Johnny said, "Dad, I'm positive I failed my arithmetic test." |
i think we have been trolled
