Shows u don't care about doing your job correctly. Hell the basic brochure will tell u what u need to know about that vehicle

:iagree:

Not intimately knowing what one sells is poor salesmanship.

Most car salesmen jump from dealer to dealer, so they have to constant relearn something else. Not very many stick to the same place.

The day I was picking up my Nismo, the salesman started asking questions like my address, phone, employer, etc.. Then he asked me for my SS# and how much I make. At this point I asked why he wanted the info. He tells me its for the finance company.

"What are you talking about? I'm paying cash!"

Me: Is this with or without the sport package?
Him: It isn't
Me: But it has the sport package wheels.
Him: All of them have the same wheels.
Me: (getting into the car) It also has SRM...
Him: Let me go ask my manager
Me: Can you also ask him to get me a new sales person.
Him: ......... :(
Me: Thanks.

Had this at one dealership too (Coulter Nissan).

More:

(Coulter Nissan at a Stadium sale):
Me: "I'm here to check out the 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport."
Dealer: "Those aren't even out yet."
Me: "Really? You have a Magma Red AT Base + Sport sitting just outside the stadium..."

Similar thing happened at Peoria Nissan.

Avondale Nissan:

Me: "I'm here to check out the 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport in Midnight Blue."
Dealer: "We can order one, but you must agree to the price up front."
Me: "Is it possible to see a picture of it?"
Dealer: "No."
Me: "So you want me to agree to something I can't even see a picture of. May I ask you to call them, request a picture taken, and then email said picture to you right now?"
Dealer: "We can't do that."
Me: "Okay, what dealership are you getting said Z from, so I may go look at it. I'd like to not have to order one [proceeded to explain to him the ordering process and how long it would take over the holidays (thanks to this site and a knowledgeable dealership in Scottsdale, but they wouldn't play ball w/the pricing) and how I had to wait this long due to a refi. on my house]."
Dealer: "Well, you should have placed an order soon then [in a dickish tone]."
I walked out of the dealership at this point loudly explaining to my Dad who was with me that *salesman's name* was a complete jerk and didn't even know anything about the car.

Peoria Nissan:

Me: "I'm here looking for a 2013 Z 6MT Base + Sport in Midnight Blue."
Dealer: "The closest one is on the East Coast."
Me: I bring up Fontana Nissan and Planet Nissan's sites on my phone and email it to the dealer when I got home: "Show's that there's one in California and one in Vegas." Never received any response. :icon17:

Another one that was AWESOME...
(I had a Maxima that was totaled and it sat at the dealershit, and they tried to sell me a new one, which I didn't mind)

So, they brought a white one and they guy, like every sales guy goes, clean CarFax, 1 owner... I do a quick walk around, feel the paint, and I noticed something not Kosher... Popped the hood, awesome, for SURE painted...
I told the guy, and of course, he says, CarFax CarFax!... (They REALLY love that dumb *** thing...)
I showed him the paint overspray on the door jamb and overspray on the battery, and asked "Oh, so this is the way cars are from the factory?" He thought I was retarded and brought the sales manager... Sales manager said, yep, it's been painted and got a little pissed that they bought a damaged car...

Next Maxima they brought... Guy says it's an SV (for non-Maxima people, S is BASE, SV is leather, foglights, turn signals on the mirrors, and home link?)
He brings it out, gunmetal and I said "Oh, so dealer added leather?"
"Oh no, this is factory"...
"Um... No... This is a base S with added leather, see the lack of foglights and mirror signals?"
"This is a special 2010 model, they offered just leather"
So since the manager was still hanging around waiting for me to see the second one. I asked if I could get a word with him privately. Brought him over to the car, showed him something and said... "Look your boy doesn't know a goddamn thing about these cars. I really doubt Nissan fúcked up the stitching" (the center console lid and the door panels are "leather" no matter what trim package you get, and the stitching is like browny-orange... The stitching on the seats was white... LOL!!!)
I also said, "by the way... Front bumper has been repainted, the rubber seal between the hood and the bumper is painted over"

He asked if I wanted a job or could teach their sales team how to ID their cars

LOLLLLL I'm @ work just laughing at this hahahaha

I finally remember one.
I was at a Nissan dealership tagging a long with my sister who was there to service her sentra.
I asked one of the sales guys if they had any Z in the new Magma Red. He is like yes we do we have one in the back.
Eager to see the color, we go to the back ...only to find out it is a solid red..LOL
Then I told him that was not the color I was talking about, and apparently he did not know anything about the Magma red.

I also always find it funny when i randomly for whatever reason show up the the z dealership and start looking at some Z and they come up to you asking if you want to buy it and you tell them " I already have one thank you" and they walk away all sad hahahah

I can usually tell if the salesman knows anything about the car if they looked surprised when you use the remote window roll down feature.

Fast forward a year, same dealership, new salesman. Same request. Pearl white touring SP... right next to it was a base sport in black. We get back from the test drive and I say, write me up for that black one.

Which dealership did this happen at? Henderson tried to scam me for a couple thousand dollars, so I left and bought my mb base at desert.

NitrousZ34 02-28-2013 02:41 AM

I had a local dealer tell me that the Z is faster than the new Porsche 911 :roflpuke2:

3 years ago I went from MD to NJ to look at a used 2009 Maxima....

Me: This car has graffiti keyed onto the side and it has 5000 miles more than what was listed on your website. When I called I was told the pictures on the website were up to date and the car was in good condition. Can you lower the price somewhat to compensate for these things?
Salesman: That listing was posted over a year ago and the car has been here since then. We can't lower the price.
Me: And you never thought to update it or try to clean up the car a bit?
Salesman: ......
Me: Bye!

It was a good thing we made it a family trip to NYC for the weekend to visit other family otherwise I would have been extra pissed for wasting all that time to go there.

bfowlzr33 02-28-2013 07:40 AM

them- this one right chere chirp tire in third gear hur hur
me- yea, no longer interested in this one right "chere"

Which dealer do you go to? My cousin worked at 2 Nissian dealers in the Pittsburgh area previously(was a tech for 5 years ) he still knows peeps there in servic, if they give you trouble we can make some calls! Also one of my coworkers was the service manager at South hills Nissan and knows everyone there, and has many connections to West and East Nissan as well, and the Nissan rep has a honda pilot that we service:bowrofl:, might need to pull that string if my motor keeps eating oil. Also, don't take any crap about mods, unless the mods can be proven to cause te failure they is nothing they can do about it. Thats like saying because you added more ram to your computer caused the power button to stop working, and the warranty is no good, companies have been getting away with this crap for years, we the consumers need to put an end to it!
