I always get the stares when I get out of the Z of " How the hell do I fit in the car?" When they ask I tell them, "like a glove." I am 6'4" and my knee is right on the dash right where the start button is. I wish they didn't make that part of the dash drop down. If I was any taller I would not of been able to buy the Z.

You still have an inch and a quarter at least... over 6'5" here. 1st time I test drove it a thought I was too tall. I went back and adjust the seat down and took it for a test drive. Better fit than my 69 vette but not as good as my 71 240z.

I never get anyone hating on the Z. Except for the occasional *** that doesn't like me getting in front of them. That wouldn't matter what car I'm driving.

Driving my Tacoma yesterday and got in front of an idiot leaving a huge gap in stop and go traffic. Had about 4 car lengths of a gap when I changed lanes. Thought he was going to blow a gasket the way his arms where flailing around, facial expressions and flipping me off. LOL Must of been a postal worker.

speedfreek 03-29-2013 11:31 AM

I would say that is about right. There is just enough room where my right knee doesnt touch the dash.

I guess, keep in mind the people who engineer and design Nissan cars are small and thin of statue, yea ? ? 5 5

I'm 6'3". Hate that little spot by the start button. But it was a sacrifice I was willing to make to buy it. One road trip so far and I gotta say I'll never do it again. I couldn't really handle it anymore even in my Acura. I still find the Z to be extremely comfortable. Except for bruised kidneys. lol!

Back to the thread... I was in the far left lane of two turn-only lanes and there was about three car lengths of space in the lane next to me to the next car. I notice this car pull up and stop right next to me. I was like, ummmm, pull up! Hello!!! But this person didn't move anywhere and I was thinking they just happen to stop way far back like some other drivers I've seen. But then I started to get the feeling I was being watched. I slowly turned my head to see what was up with the driver and found it to be an old woman with a messed up look on her face straight up staring at me. Like, hardcore. She had even pulled in closer and her tires were over into my lane when she had stopped. I was like, wtf? I checked to see about 45 seconds later and sure as hell, still staring. She didn't move a muscle. Then about 5 second before the light finally changed, she pulled forward and closed the gap in front of her. Really freaking creepy.

I've had quite a few other incidents along the same lines but usually less extreme and many that involve pissed off, pride-less male minivan drivers that are trying to prove something to me or themselves. Not sure which yet.

Im just as tall as you are and I fit snug, I think the Z has a lot of leg room if you recline back. :tiphat:

I was at a Taco Bell drive-through with this blonde I was going out with at the time, and the guy manning the booth told me I looked like 007 with the silver Z. My response to everything for the rest of the week was, "because I'm james Bond, bitch!" :icon17:

What you didn't realize because of the blindspots you had cut her off and now she was pissed!

Over the weekend I was in Fayetteville, AR out at night with my brother. Two girls yelled from the sidewalk I like your car. I circled around but then realized I can't even pick them up. (Damn 2 seater)

#1 = passenger lap.

#2 = driver lap? :icon17: Maybe just the hatch. Make sure #2 is the uglier one.

That too, offer to pay for his cab ride home. I'm sure two small girls will fit in the passenger seat.

Bucketlist2012 04-04-2013 03:49 PM

Where I live you never see 370Z's...

I like having a car that you do not see many of...

I see plenty of 350Z's, Prius, Chrysler 300's and Mustangs...But rarely a 370Z...

Benz drivers in SoCal I think are all half in the grave or something-they are always the slowest on the road. The SLK's sort of look like big coffins if you think about it. Why buy a $95K car and then go 40 mph, why? Every Prius owner here though will have no problem proving to you how fast their car is on the 405.

JungleZ 07-29-2013 09:43 PM

Bump!!! Aston Martin big dog at my work always stares at the Z and today he finally gave me an epic thumbs up. Felt great.

Actually lately with everyone and their mom leasing a C250 or C300 benz people are driving fast as hell trying to get on the performance tip. Sometimes i have to tell them to slow the hell down you aint got an AMG..

Elan 07-29-2013 11:22 PM

People stare. Had it in my 350 and knew it would happen in the 370. The 370 is a pretty rare car. I see maybe one or two a month. That's why I got some dark tints. Much more privacy.

But yes Jungle everyone in a Merc or Beamer thinking its an AMG or an M...

luigi90210 07-30-2013 01:43 AM

i know exactly how that is, i am always seeing people stare at my car when i drive through town, parking lot, the city, the highways

i like the attention because it feeds my ego but i also hate it because i know if normal people notice me, cops notice me even more

Yes sir. Cops do notice. They do double takes. Motorcycle cops, bicycle cops, CHP, Sherrifs, under cover cops, you name it. Seen it happen while at Staples Center and on the freeways (or interstate depending on what part of the country you are at).

kenchan 07-30-2013 10:24 AM

cops look at my car and notice im properly displaying my front plate. that alone makes them feel i am playing by the rules. they dont bother me. :)

The 2013 BMW M6 driver just started his membership at my gym Sunday.
Its so nice not to drive the hardest thing in the parking lot.
Now the teenagers on their bicycles gravitate to his car instead of mine

ShutokuZ 07-30-2013 11:55 AM

My car seems to get more looks, stares, and points at from younger people/children than anyone else.

TheGreatOne 07-30-2013 12:14 PM

Kids definitely love the Z

Passed by a few DayCamp groups on my way back to the office and the ohhs and ahh's from the kids, priceless.

If ever I need a pick me up or ego stroked taking the Z around the block will do it. Easily I get a few thumbs up, head turns or people throwing a nice comment my way.

On another thread you mentioned you like the looks of the 09-12 better than your 13. Hope you're liking the looks of your 13 better now!

So true, kids & teens love the Z. I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when a pretty young lady (late 20's early 30's) looking at my car, then looked up and smiled at me when I slowly approached the intersection she was crossing. Guess I reminded her of her dad :icon17:

My car gets way to many stares.. especially since we don't get any Nismo's up here in Canada, it's one of a kind :ugh2:

paperboy42190 07-31-2013 03:17 AM

Last weekend at Wekfest as I was looking for parking, I saw some kids snapping some pics of my Z and I can't lie....it felt awesome.

Zteve 07-31-2013 04:08 PM

i don't just get stares, i get every ricer in town with a honda, hyundai, subaru, etc wanting to race me and speed off from stop lights all the time. same thing happend with my 350z so i am kind of use to it though it can be annoying as hell

Tazicon 07-31-2013 04:13 PM

Do you all live in the getto? Thats the only place that Z's get attention out here. If you want stares better be driving nothing short of a Ferrari or Lambo!
