I got my first compliment on the road. At the red light dude in a pretty clean SRT 4, said he liked my car.

I came out to my morgan with about 8 people crowded around it today at advance auto, at lowes I chatted with an elise owner for a while, and 2 other people stopped me in the parkinglot. Got stuck at a red light in the middle of town and had 3 people drive by and take pictures, even more gave thumbs up. No one cares about the Z.

my leased base model gets more looks than when i get opportunities to ride in C63 AMG's,e92 m3,m5, and other monsters. I would of never thought

While eating in Firehouse subs, this dude jumped out of his car and snapped photos. I thought it was so funny. This has happened on two occasions in the 10 months I've owned it. It's a cute lil car and attracts alot of attention around here because there just aren't very many. I have very dark tint though because sometimes you just wanna sit at the traffic light in peace and not be stared at or egged to race.

silentnightz 03-15-2013 09:48 PM

I've been attracting the wrong type of people staring at my z... Mainly cops wth stop tailing me! I'm driving speed limit and 2 cop cars following me for over 10 mins. So I pulled into my driveway and waved at them... I wish I could flip them off but just annoying.

You can. They can't arrest or detain you for it.

RotanimoD 03-16-2013 01:56 AM

im in OC...they stare....but in LA nobody gaf lol

Tigger 03-17-2013 08:48 PM

The last time I was stared at like this is when I first bought my 2nd Gen TSX. It had only been out for a year already and there were literally none in my area. The 370 has been out for what, 4 1/2 years now? I've only had the car for 24 hours and I can say I've gotten looks at every damn stoplight on the two short drives I've taken. Crazy. Not used to the attention. Need tint. Now.

Crazy Baby 03-17-2013 09:42 PM

My 6yr old son asked me the other day.....Daddy, why is everybody looking at me like that? Then he shows me this face ....dropped jaw, wide open eyes...LOL....

Rone 03-17-2013 10:14 PM

Nobody really seems to car where I'm at, but on the rare occasions I drive my wife's car I get complement almost everywhere I go.

i was talkin' to my friend about this the other day ; ; - it's like being with a really hot girlfriend: everyone will stare and wish they had her.
It's the name of the game. I'd guess most of you guys like this attention if you bought a 370z, for sure.

dP3NGU1N 03-18-2013 01:24 AM

It's been about 4 months since I've owned the car, noticed a few glances and neck turns but got the biggest compliment so far about a week ago. I was looking for parking at a strip mall and there was a terrible amount of foot traffic so I was circling for a while. As I was crawling through foot traffic a group of girls were walking past and one of them said in a sing-song voice "I really like your car!" and then immediately covered her mouth and said "Oh my god I don't believe I just said that out loud" as her girlfriends laughed.

Not so much the compliment that made it priceless but the pure spontaneity of the statement. +1 because she was pretty cute too. lol

I told my friend the same thing, "Only good looking ladies allowed." So his wife steps up and he promptly restates what I said to him. :rofl2:

Then I was propositioned with him wearing a dress to get a ride in the Z... :icon14: :shakes head:

I was making some maneuvers on highway from work and this nice Cts v coupe pretty much copies my moves and eventually gets beside me. All of a sudden I hear nice rumble and he takes off.

Dystopia 03-28-2013 09:48 PM

I've had my Z (Zora) for about two weeks now. The day I picked her up I stopped to grab some food with my brother and there was a group of young kids riding bikes around the parking lot. As I pulled into a parking spot one of the kids was like "OH MY GOD! I WANT THAT CAR!!!" We both laughed but it was kind of a cool moment for me. It's not like the car is a 458 Italia or anything but it made me realize how lucky I am.

I have had PLENTY of looks but I live in a very rural town that is not affluent by any means.

The other day I stopped at my local liquor store and this middle aged couple pulled up in a newer Malibu next to me and just stared at the car. The dude driving gets out of the car and he is at least 6'3" 230 and then his MILF of a wife walks by and is checking it out. I go inside shortly after and they both were very nice and complimented the car. The husband makes a remark about probably not being able to fit in it and I agreed with him!

I agree with some of the posts in this thread. In some areas it is almost embarrassing that people think the car is some high priced exotic.

nmjaxx9 03-28-2013 10:20 PM

Last weekend I was @ a night tuner meet where there were a bunch of wankers. One group in particular was the saddest of them all, their fastest car was a mazda 3.:wtf2:

A guy from the group walked over to me and asked me to run them. I was like nah im good. Then they kept insiting, I was like nah im str8. I told them, you guys do you I do me, not interested in running it with you or your peeps. But him and his group kept insisting.

I was like "You wont win, give up!" :bowrofl:

But I did thank em for the compliment they gave me when they were drooling over my car. :icon17:

Ztoon 03-28-2013 10:46 PM

I've modded most of the exterior now. In fact, I think the doors are the only oem parts left. So I get a full range of reactions, from 'OMG, what is that'! To full on head scratchers, to.... is that a Porsche? Over the years I'm used to pretty much every comment and reaction, although recently one of my favourites was a middle aged well dressed woman entering the lobby of a 5 star hotel doing a full head turn, then walked back to where I was parked at the round-about entrance, stood next to me and exclaimed, 'That is such a beautiful car'! So unlikely a source.... just blew me away.

What do you consider middle-aged?

Middle age is when you talk to your parents, the same way you talk to your kids. :icon14:

Nailzs 03-29-2013 05:26 AM

I think it's interesting when people driving a Porsche crank their necks looking at my Z. :driving:

I imagine people look at Mercedes and BMWs as cars for middle-aged men who make too much money and thus don't want to give them any more attention. But a Z? It's a damn sweet-lookin' car that really honestly has zero cultural/economic stigma attached to it.

(Edited "BMWs are cars" to "BMWs as cars" I didn't mean to imply they're for older people, but I think lots of people attach that stigma to them.)

Haboob 03-29-2013 09:13 AM

Unless you're a car guy (or girl), 90% of the Benz's and BMW's look alike and aren't anything special. It's only us who can see the certain class of Benz (or AMG), M series, etc. will gawk or recognize them.

I wouldn't say embarrassing because it's a Nissan, just shows how Nissan continues to improve on an iconic sports car which most car manufacturers lose their way in their product line while it's in production. When people stop looking at cars for the price tag and name (let's not forget Z's have never been the cheapest sports car available) , they will truly see the point Nissan has been making since the Z and the GT-R were created, which is improve on every aspect of the car, not just keeping up with inflation and adding a nice parachute size premium on each unit you sell (which Nissan has done brilliantly with the Z and the GT-R, the packages available for the price can't be beat, and reliability you can count on). To each his own though. This is all coming from a guy whose been a fan of Nissan since i was 7, I like other supercar and sports car companies too, just don't understand how they can be so much higher for not much if any more performance and reliability (reliabilty in itself in the sports car and supercar market can't even come close to Nissan)? A perfect balanced package is what i'm looking for when purchasing a supercar or sports car, and one that's mod friendly for the light one's i want to do.:tiphat:
