let's just say i wouldn't go cheap on the shipping company.

is it an option for you to fly out to CA and go get the car, and drive it home? that would be fun!

I've shipped 10+ cars from CA to TX and from CA to Canada.

I completely disagree with cheap, not cheap, you're buying the same shít no matter what, every company is a middle man to individual drivers (no matter what BULLSHÍT they try to feed you)... Unless you want covered shipping which will run you a few grand, open shipping is alllllll the same

My honest advice, don't use U-Ship, just call around
And HONESTLY, be prepared for your wheels to get scuffed, it seems to be a 50/50, but when they do get f'd the driver does pay
Oh and give the car not only a once over, give it a twice and third and fourth over when it arrives in NJ

Dealer shipped via 3rd party from Texas to WV and split the cost. www.metrogistics.com
Other than a couple days late due to truck issues it arrived dirty and fine.

I had my car shipped from Texas to Hawaii. Pay the extra if you can. I paid extra to be sure I had a shipping company that transported covered and dealt with low clearance cars. Whether you are lowered or not, tell the company you have low clearance to be safe or your front bumper could be facing some scuffs on the bottom. Winter time, I would definitely spring for a covered carrier as you don't know what kind of weather it will be going through.

I'm having a car shipped next week from Sacramento to Kansas City. Set it up through montway. They are just a broker. Door to door service and shipped enclosed for just a bit over $1k. We'll see how this goes...

You'll have to tell me what an enclosed car transport looks like. I still don't think it can be a standard trailer...

Allied Car Transport - Reliable Car Transport Carriers

^ On the webpage, the orange semi.... yeah, its probably going to be really expensive... I haven't called them yet, only knew about this company because a bunch of guys over in the Viper forum swear by them.

Haha i had my car shipped from WA to TX! Was 1200 for shipping in an open trailer.....i would totally recommend getting a covered transport. My car arrived dirty as f-uck! Made it difficult to review the car for any damage.

Call a few MOVING companies of the city you want to go to and see if they have any trucks where you currently are, if they do, see if they'll move your car back to their home location

I had a car going from Arkansas to D.C. Looking at uship estimates was over 1k. Ive decided to buy a one way and drive it back myself. Cost comparison seemed cheaper this route plus i get to bond with my new car. I guess if it was coast to coast id reconsider but a 15 hour drive doesnt seem so bad. Just praying i wont encounter any snow or ice.

My brother had the same concern but called around and found a great shipper who took care of his ride in an enclosed trailer from NY to Cali with no issues whatsoever. Also the rest of the cars in the trailer were higher end cars as well. Will probably run anywhere from 1k to 1.5k
