Had mine done yesterday, too. 1:00 hour there, as they also put in the new rear hatch springs they had been holding all winter for me while I was away. Two problems solved and a hand car wash---all on Nissan's tab. Very nice.

Thought people had the car lock on them even after the recall and that pulling the fuse was advisable?

Yes. I just had my steering lock replaced as well but it's only a matter of time until the new part fails, so I'm pulling the fuse anyway. I just wanted the new steering lock to potentially help the value when I sell in the future. Plus why not, it's free under warranty.

What version of steering lock does the dealer install?

Hello everyone! I'm one of those guys driving an 90' Z who was affected by the SL failure. I was "lucky" and managed to knock it back into place by hitting it with a hammer, then cut the brown wire. This was before the fuse idea was discovered.

I just today received my recall notice for the SL unit, advising me to go in to the dealer and get it replaced.

My question: Because I've cut the brown wire, is this something that Nissan is going to give me hassle about when I go in to get it replaced?

Thanks!

Depends on the dealer. If you get a lot of static at one, go try another.

Got my letter, the part is in, supposed to have it replaced next Friday. I also just got 15,000 miles on my Z.

How many have replaced steering lock under recall?

I just received the notice from Nissan on the steering wheel lock. I pulled the fuse on mine the day after I bought the car and don't see any reason to bring my car to the dealer for a replacement part.

How many of you who have pulled the fuse have had theirs replaced?

Should I have mine replaced?

Mines going to the dealership tomorrow for it

Had mine replaced as soon as I saw the notice on here but I never got around to pulling the fuse before that.

Threw my notice in the garbage. Not worth my time to have my good disabled lock replaced with the same faulty one.
