My neighbors cat keeps climbing the hood of my car!!

feel lucky. i constantly have to shoot racoons. my "odd" neighbor leaves food out for them and feeds them. she thinks they are her pets and now they have a nest right behind her house at the edge of the woods. recently had one goin towards my younger (20yr) sister while washing her car. good thing i had my glock on me

I don't allow my dogs to roam the neighborhood. I don't have a problem if your pet gets loose every now and then (it happens, even to me), but PLEASE make an effort to keep them on your property. Several ppl in my neighborhood allow their cats to roam at will - I leave the back door open when weather/mosquitoes permit and my Australian Cattle Dog does a good job of keeping them out of the back yard.

Do you know who the cat belongs to? Have you talked with the owner about it?

If yes and yes, and still nothing is done, then follow the advice above about contacting animal control. As tempting as it is to shoot/poison/kill them (and I have been really tempted myself in the past to do this), it is just not worth it if you get caught. Seriously, it is almost as bad to kill a cat as a person. LOL

also if the owner of the cat refuses to pay file a claim with your insurance against her homeowners insurance. just let your insurance company go after them, they'll learn. then kill the cat anyway

also call animal control after scratching yourself with a straight pin. tell them her cat did it and you want it tested for rabies or have it put down lol

Since the coyotes moved in a few years ago, just seeing a cat outdoors is a rarity for me.

That's true, we do have a lot of coyotes out here too, and we're within walking distance (football field) from the desert... probably why I've only seen one or two cats.

Though, I usually do run at them to scare them off of my property.

Killing the animal can get you in a lot of trouble, especially if it is someone's pet. Discharging a firearm (in many places this includes air guns, paint ball guns, &c) in a populated area can get you in a lot of trouble. I can also close my eyes and see a zealous prosecutor and some kind of terrorism charges.
Tempting as it may be, extermination is probably not a good answer.

But if you live someplace where it's allowed, go for it. Cats are evil.

we got some coyotes around my area too. my buddy got 2 the other day when he shot his deer too.

But another thing that I have done is gotten cat food and added some chemicals...... and hopefully die in their home.
