Bummer. Looks like i may be looking into retrofitting a blend mount for option 3. And yes i am saving pennies for fi, but if I'm saving pennies for that i can't save pennies for this at the same time

I dont mean to Hijack or anything,

But does anyone know where to find option 1? It looks like (atleast the Blitz) has been discontinued. I see GTM still has it on their website so I shot Sam a PM but am yet to hear back.

I did a few searches around google tonight with no luck.

You can replace the gauges on the dash

This is the option I am looking to go with Blue Max combo gauges oil press/oil Temp & Amp/ H20 Temp Oil Pressure/Temperature Combo Gauge

A pillar gauges are like horse blinders in any car, let alone ours.

i have heard this was very difficult to do. i wonder how well a PLX gauge would fit inthere since its super thin...

Found this on HKS Japan website: HKS OB-LINK

http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produc.../ol_img_01.jpg

that will only display stock perameters tho right?

u can get "torque" for free on the androidd app store and get and obdII plug in and have a similar system i imagine

theDreamer 12-04-2012 10:27 AM

Your two best options are:
-HKS Camp 2 which plugs directly into your navigation and OBD2 and will not cost $2k I can bet you that. The system was around $600 and each additional cable reader is $150-$200 and the install was quick (probably an easy DIY if you want).
-Replace the 3 gauges in the dash, this just requires taking out the dash which is probably half a days work for a shop and then mounting them, waiting for it to set and put the dash back in.

Neither options is cheaper or more expensive than the other, but both provide the best solution for having aftermarket gauges for forced induction.

Mitco39 12-04-2012 10:45 AM

It looks like all the Camp 2 items are discontinued. I am having a hard time tracking down the Blitz system as well (Yes I know GTM has it listed, doesnt mean they have it as I am still waiting to hear back from sam)

^^ Truth. seems like finding camp 2 isn't easy. why th ef cant someone jsut make a single pod that attaches to our piller towards the base that doesnt affect airbag function. then i could throw a plx on there and call it a day

I'm doing that right now. It doesn't interfere with airbag function and has minimal impact on outward vision loss.

:icon18: thanks bud :tiphat:

The pictures in my build thread will give you an idea. The shape has been modified slightly. I was able to shave another 1/8" off the top area.
