There are a few different types of rat poison that either work by making the little critter bleed to death or mineralize its organs. Both work well (although can't be too nice for the little mice), but do have serious risks if you have any pets at home. The bucket trap can work too to drown the mice. There are also electric traps which are more humane, not sure on their price or availability. I've killed mice with rat poison to keep them out of my Morgan, and I also see a lot of dogs on emergency that have been poisoned by rat bait so just watch out.

How are mice getting into the garage in the first place? Have you tried tracing or sealing any openings?

Found small chew marks around the door seal. The poor car was not even in the garage when the damage occurred . It had been sitting in the drive way for only three days. The little fuc...s chewed up the injector wire harness. But I have (in deep voice) "all state" they have covered 100% less deductible .to bad it only took the dealer three weeks to find the problem!

they can fit through very small space...

from what i know (not much), i dont have a mouse problem at my place, but im not taking any chances cause our cars are made out of soybean products. it's quite edible for those rodents... and a $5 box of dcon is cheaper than $1K+ of harness and repair each...

Damn that sucks dude, moth balls and dryer sheets is what I use for my car during the winter storage. But the old style mouse traps would also work if you don't want to use rat poison, I like the bucket idea to though!

I use my moms cat. There are no mice, birds, small animals anywhere near by the house.

Cats work great. Mine has killed 104 mice, 4 birds, 6 snakes, and one salamander in 2 years at my place. I don't have any around my house or garage anymore.
