Default First 370z need some help.

Hey everyone I just purchased my first 370Z it’s a 2011 model. My goal is to have a fun street car not going to take it to the track just have fun on the street. I need help on what I need to do first; I would like to upgrade performance before visuals. Any comments would be appreciated. Also what type of motor oil should I use? I’m a fan of Amsoil not sure if it would be a good oil to use? Thank You.

personally i would look at handling and braking mods first...always a good idea to invest in handling and braking to handle that extra power you are bound to want in the future. as far as oil, i think alot of people use red line products on these boards as well as myself, very good oil in my opinion. oh and before i forget you'll also want to look into an oil cooler as even the 2011's like mine tend to run a little on the hot side as they dont have an oil cooler like the 12's.

IMO you dont really need and oil cooler unless your taking it to the track, it definatly won't hurt, but necessary ehhhhh probably not, especially just for street driving even if its spirited driving. Exhaust mods are a good start, and yes brakes and suspension are always good too.

This. You'll get to enjoy them every time you turn the wheel. The Z's got enough power stock to get you in trouble.

Springs, sway bars and a cat-back would be just about perfect.

Then you want Fast Intentions. A tad pricey but totally worth it. It's the highest hp gaining exhaust available (that I know of) for our car right now, and it's top quality. It sounds amazing, not too loud, no rasp. This is the exhaust with carbon fiber mufflers and no resonators, so it's the loudest combination you can get for this exhast.

I would also go with handling first. Swift springs for $350 brand new are great, and Whiteline sway bars are also a great mod. The Stillen Gen3 cold air intake is about $525 new, but you can get them for $300-400 used here on the forum. The basic list of engine bolt ons is Cold Air Intake, Catback Exhaust, and Long Tube Headers/Cat converters, Pulleys, Intake Manifold. After that you're looking at forced induction which gets really pricey. For handling you want to look at drop springs, swaybars, wider wheels, and a big brake kit.

If you're going to drop it don't forget to get camber arms and such as a drop will throw your alignment off.

Go out with your local Z guys and listen to a bunch of exhausts. Videos on the internet just don't sound right. I'm partial to Fast Intentions, but I can understand if you're not willing to sit on a waiting list.

Definitely true. There's a wide variety of CBEs out there and they are all over the place in terms of prices. CBE plus a CAI would be a good start, they're both manageable installations and found it yourself will save you $$ for other mods. Enjoy the car!!
