This thread has taken all sorts of twists and turns.

Accidents happen. Whatever. But...

.. a Porsche Turbo owner doesn't get confused as to what kind of Porsche he is driving. Anybody can say one thing (turbo) and then grab a quick pic off the interenet to validate the claim (only to have it be a C2S.. not a turbo.. oops) and then backpedal later.

If that is your car in the pic, go get a red hat, pose with the car for a quick pic and then perhaps this whole thing will hold more water.

Let's start there with a little validity and then move forward..

KillerBee370 07-05-2009 09:40 PM

By the way... did I mention what my other car was?

Here's a pic to validate the claim:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...zo_Ferrari.jpg

Now go ask me to wear a particular item of clothing and pose with it... I won't be able to do it..

nogoodname 07-05-2009 09:41 PM

why would he do that, i doubt he cares about doing that for us......lol

Togo 07-05-2009 09:47 PM

KillerBee, I want you to go take another picture of you next to it in a white shirt with some horizontal stripes otherwise i'm calling :bs:

nogoodname 07-05-2009 09:52 PM

no, i want a pic of you in a yellow shirt with a red stripe and a Ferrari badge on it with you standing in front of the enzo with a green hat and blue shoes...and the yellow Z parked beside the enzo with the left blinkers on

Togo 07-05-2009 09:56 PM

what if he doesn't have blue shoes, can he wear red ones? You KNOW a guy with a ferrari is bound to have red shoes....

Why not? He took the time to join a 370Z forum in order to make the post in the first place. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I just want a starting point.

Going to the Aston Martin dealership tomorrow to test drive a few cars. This small incident will not deter me from pushing the DBS around a sharp corner at 100mph minimum.

No **** we saw a guy step out of a Ferrari in Miami and he had some Red Ferrari Pumas. I laughed because he was color coordinated with the car.

nicknick 07-05-2009 11:03 PM

how old are you?
why were you driving so fast in a teat car let aloen any car that you could not safely control and why did you not allow a margin of error?

You are sad and not worthy to own a Zed, and you have the nerve to post about it. Idiot.

kannibul 07-05-2009 11:09 PM

Car is replacable, you are not - at least everyone's OK.

That said, I'm curious what was done to do that if VDC wasn't turned off ;)

I hate hearing that...but I bet it happens way more than we'd like to know.

In the US, the car carries the insurance, not the driver. So be mindful of who you let drive your car. That said...

the car's insurance company can go after the driver's insurance company for the claim. The most you will likely be out is your dedectible, but can count as a claim against you.

I think some states it matters.

That, and your insurance always protects the other car/driver/passengers/property...not yours...

Wicked game they play.

VDC can only do so much. If you are going too fasty even VDC will not save your a_s.

kantonm 07-05-2009 11:48 PM

now that we all agree that the story is BS, lets accually turn this waste of a thread into something good and talk about the limits of the VCD. What can and cant it do/prevent?

370Z Purist 07-06-2009 12:02 AM

Even at 77 mph, it can probably still save your ***. Even braking or flooring the throttle, because you don't actually make the car go (remember, electronic throttle, drive by wire), it will likely override you.
VDC, or vehicle dynamic control, is literally a very advanced traction control system, and hence, can do a little more than a TCS system, but is essentially the same thing. However, VDC is capable of actually limiting the throttle.

Seriously, I haven't see so much ******** in my life. Guy thinks he's a race driver and doesn't give details. Last I heard, racing is not a government classified project.

Good idea. In this particular situation, the VDC would not have let the driver have full acceleration, at that time, which lead to the back of the car stepping out like that. Speed, steering, lateral force and wheel spin are things the computer processes many times a second.
