I know most people would scoff at the idea, but I removed the headrests for a better view out of the quarter window.

I don't think that is any big deal.If it gives you a better view.Might look into that myself.

Buy a plastic orange construction cone to place in the parking spaces on each side of you during those brief visits to the mall or supermarket. You're gone before anyone in authority becomes aware of them and you've avoided those hundred dollar dings.
