yea some pit lanes have a designated speed limit, to try to limit the accidents. but i do understand its just another way the judges can see the "best" out of the competitors.

Absolutely. Master the right time to brake is one of the most important key to win a race. It's the combination of knowing your car's limit, knowing the road condition, knowing the track and the driver's judgement.
