Keep your keys in a shirt pocket and your gun in your right waistband. Those are the items that really scuff and tear when they catch on the seat material.

i have the cloth seats, no wear yet. but the underside of my steering wheel is wearing where i occasionally rub against it when getting in/out of the car.
