But the F-type is a $200k+ car for quality.. |

for $200k, i'll take a gtr nismo. |
On my way to work about 3 times a week I see a Silver Nismo. I have a red Nismo I waved at him a couple of times but no response. Then one day I was filling up and the guy in the silver Nismo pulled on the other side of me then came over and said" that's a nice ride I love it in red, I wanted red but couldn't find one If I see you around ill honk" LOL

I know there is a couple around here but never see them. Now I am going to see if I can catch Rusty on the street to see if he waves lol! Just found out he works right around the corner from my house. Haven't seen his Z running around yet but we are planning on meeting up 1 day.

I used to own a Wrangler Rubicon and about 90% of other Wrangler drivers did the Jeep wave. Researching this phenomenon for the Jeep Wrangler culture goes all the way back to WWII. When Jeep drivers would pass each other out in the field and wave at each other going from the battlefield or returning to camp, it had not so much to do with Jeeps as just the acknowledgement of seeing your fellow brothers in arms. After WWII ended and all those service men and women returned many purchased used military Jeeps and continued the Jeep wave.
Now as far as the Z goes I give all of the ones I see a head nod and return waves when I see them wave at me. When I come across 240Z Datsuns in good shape however I just openly gawk. |
i rarely see a 370 but I usually wave, not like an idiot but a casual wave. def more wrx's here in the northeast. luckily mustang driver's don't wave. there's so many of them that aliens would think we're all idiots on this planet! :rofl2:

I find it funny though that this is a thing as it's a thing with Motorcycles also. I ride all kinds of motorcycles. Current is a Sportster 1200 Custom and some of those guys won't wave at anything not a Harley or the Rocket crowd does the same thing to. I don't understand the appeal of spending $10+K on an actual scooter when you can get a nice real motorcycle for that or less. I guess whatever floats your boat.

I've owned Harley's & sport bikes, I always wave to fellow bikers, regardless of the style or brand of bike. I don't extend the same courtesy to mopeds or scooters, sorry. |
I rode bikes (Hondas, Harleys, Yamis) for 40 years and always waved to fellow riders no matter what the brand. It was a sign of respect.
Well....now I wave to other Zs. No, not because I'm that friendly, but more now just because it clears my conscious.... Yup, and I probably shouldn't admit to this, but as we're all friends and as nobody on here really judges... ;) .... LOL You see I have me one of them dreaded Prius' as my daily driver for the 80 miles each way that I have to commute to work, and I can say that I have noticed that all of them Prius drivers give a little wave to each other each time... Usually the left hand out the window kinda hanging down a little... And then 2 or 3 soft little shakes up and down. As I try not to get involved in all that kind of commraderie, I always quickly divert my eyes by looking the other way. Yup, whenever I see that wave I drive it straight home and park that damned car way out behind the house. So... when I am rolling in the Z..... it makes me feel whole again... Thanks Nissan |
A Prius wave? Lol there's got to be a lot of those out there tho for sure so that's gotta be tiring

The older mustang guys are douches and don't like the foreign stuff but the younger mustang guys understand power to weight ratios and are intimidated when they here my exhaust , they know she ain't stock lol..... I like hunting for Mustangs and those Hyundais I'm 51 years old by the way and love my Z !!!!!! I'll chat up Z drivers at red lights like a " hey nice car " usually gets a "yours too" in return. You know We drive really cool and sexy cars, they go like stink , the poor mans Porshe lol, fun platform to improve on with mods, I'm sure we all love our cars so do like the ******* song and "smile & Wave " will ya !!!! Don't be a Z Douche..... Besides chicks really dig our cars too lmao |
Funny thing.... Last week I'm turning left and I see my cars twin coming at me from the other direction. It's gotta be rare to have two MB 15/16 Nismo's in the same place around here I flick high beams and a wave and the guy just drives on by. No nod, no nothing. Get up the road a few miles and stop at a light, GTR pulls up. Window rolls down and he tells me how good the exhaust sounded coming down the road. That's how it's done.

Been waving to all Zs im sure they think I'm an idiot but I'm just pumped to see other Zs even tho 370s are pretty rare to see in the area.
The other day tho I saw a 350 pull up at a stop sign on my right as I pulled up and I waved and it turned out being a girl who looked for min and then gave me a nod and a smile as she drove by, I was pretty pumped. She was probly like why is this person waving then realized I was in a Z maybe. It was cool tho. It's always nice just being acknowledged when waving lol even nicer when it turns out being a good looking girl haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Not much love here in AZ! I did get one nod from another owner once but the rest were either odd stares (mostly lady owners) and/or no acknowledgement!
One elderly man did come up to me to compliment my car and then went into a little history where he had the 280Z and 300ZX respectively! He was surprised at how much horsepower my Z had which is stock! It was nice to meet an owner from another generation! |
Acknowledging other zs
When youre driving your z do you go out of your way to acknowledge other zs? I saw an ok 350 today on some nice wheels and gave him a thumbs up. A nice g37s too.
|
I'll honk or flash my lights and wave.
Kirk B. |
yes, do it all the time, wave / thumbs up, need to try the flashing of the lights
|
Flash lights or wave!
|
I will usually flash the lights but the other drivers are like "wtf?"
It seems that some Z pilots here in TO are a pretentious bunch. |

I was thinking about shipping my car back to tdot when I move back, hopefully the culture's not like that.. |
Saw a stock PW when I was leaving home the other day. He pretty much broke his neck getting a good look so I guess we do acknowledge each other lol
|
I do the Z wave, sometimes they acknowledge, other times they give the finger or give the deer eyed look....
|
I don't see many Z's but when I do, most of the time we exchange the thumbs up. If I look over and see some punk with that look on his face like you are a pos then I don't.
It was pretty rare for me but yesterday I saw 2 370Z's within 10 minutes!! |
I wave like a horny little schoolgirl.
Although yesterday I don't think the guy was as excited as I was :( |
wow, 2 z's in one day. that is rare.
|
It amazes me that most people see so few Zs there are at least 3. Just in my apartment complex.

I see one near my work sometimes. There's a few in my area but I only see maybe 2 370s a month. A few more 350s, but not many. The 370 is so superior to the 350.
|
There's a couple where I live now, always wave, get the waves from the fart can ricers around here as well :shakes head:.
