How are your hands positioned while driving?

Sorry, I have a manual, so I can not. I was just curious where you could reach them from i.e. 8-10 on left and 2-4 on the right? Can they be reached from 1 or 5 O'clock? I assume 12 O'clock is out, but I do not know.

well i know 10 and 2 will do it easily but i dont have an automatic, MT all the way
