How many of you have pulled the steering lock fuse?
 

Just curious. I have a 2009, pulled mine a couple months ago

Figured I'd pull mine even though I hadn't had an issue with it yet. Better safe than sorry, especially while I'm out of country.

Is this to avoid steering lock failure? I am a ticking time bomb regarding steering lock.

i'm scratching my head too. i have an 09 w/94k on the odo and haven't done this

for the people who say "i havnt had a problem yet.." well thats the problem, it will just happen. From what people have said, theres no way to tell that it is going to fail. just one morning, or evening, its done for.

What is consequence if fuse is missing and system would have blown fuse?

dont think fuse can be blown if the culprit of a possible blown fuse is disabled.

where is the steering lock fuse?? I'm too lazy.

^ you won't be too lazy when it fails, in fact you'll be very busy calling for a flat bed

Will be doing it when I stop being so lazy. I hear getting to that fuse panel is a little tricky.

A more dedicated DIY thread might be nice, maybe I'll take some pics when I do it.
