Drive it out to 'Import Face-Off'. What a waste of time and money. Probably would have had more fun if I was on the drag strip. The showing was so-so. There was no real event coordination. Sad-face city.

Ahaha those bolts.

Welp I washed it, installed my red illuminated kick plates and fiddled with my go-pro a bit.
Seriously, that camera is the most unnecessarily complicated piece of equipment I've ever owned.

Steep learning curve and poor battery, but tough. For a car mount I think I'd just use a user friendly easy to download i-phone.

I use my gopro for surfing videos and scuba, places it needs to be durable/waterproof. Otherwise its too much work.

hotchkis sway bars, Z1 ss steel clutch line with motul rb600 and new blox purple/pink lugs went on yesterday. Clutch feels good, I'm just waiting to put it in a scenario were its previously overheated before and started sticking. Body roll now is almost non existant with the Powertrix R/T coils. And well..... the lug nuts for a good price and just for the hell of it.

Happy Monday Z community!

Steering lock failure last week. Had it towed, part was covered under extended warranty. Had the part the same day, installed with rev part # D. Funny how most 2009 models are going right at 44-45k miles.

Ordered the steering lock harness kit. no fuse pully here my friends. Better safe than sorry, dont know what else the fuse controls. Hence the harness.

Good thing about it down time was very minimal and I worked out to be ahead of the game. Yes the car had to be towed, but I was reimbursed 200% and I was without it for only one day. Rental was paid for and I came out ahead with more $ in my pocket. Pretty much paid for two steering lock harnesses, my thought is the other car will happen soon and fail the steering lock.

Driving happy again!

Red Z is in for the third time to have the master cylinder replaced. Suggested they replace the clutch pedal assembly in addition, probably a blown seal on the shock compressor behind pedal.

2013 Altima rental is good, feels like a boat compared to the Z.

Went down to local tranny shop to ask of they wanted to install my Quaife LSD.

MAC autosports (local Performance shop) quoted me $400 to drop it in.

Tranny shop guy just whistles and said" yeah buddy that's a really nice car I'd want to take my time and do it right,". IOW "um I can't match $400"

I like the way every shop I bring her to, she draws a little crowd of admirers.

$400 is a steal if they are a reputable shop.

Pintsize725 03-04-2013 03:15 PM

"Gonna get a service tech to look at it, but we might not need to replace parts." :icon14:

Oh. Coolant leak. Got it.

Well I guess that's a respectable reason to piggy back home.

Now the only question is. Do they make an upgrade part? Woot!

One last "spirited drive" before the dumb blizzard hits.

Fountainhead 03-05-2013 07:11 PM

What I did was install new Floor Mats

From WeatherTech - "Digital Fit". Initially they said couldn't fit a 2009. I explained to the sales lady that 2009 and 2010 were the same but she kept reading me what her FAQ sheet said, I thanked her and hung up and online I ordered the 2010 and of course they fit fine.
I had WeatherTechs before on a 2012 Honda Coupe EXLV6 and I liked them so much I got a pair for my Z. Here in FL sand is a real problem and normal mats fill right up with sand after a while. WeatherTechs I just vacuum once a week and no sand!
