Got the car back today. They fixed my front bumper fitment for free along with the paint job. No more road rash/scratches & they detailed the car inside and out because the guy who owns the body shop loves Z cars. Looks and feels pretty damn good.

Had a nice drive home then went out to dinner at a crappy dive bar where I saw a sad looking '09 GT-R that looked like it hadn't had a bath in ages coupled with scintered/caked on brake dust.

Got two separate waves/thumbs up from 1) a guy in the grocery store parking lot who stopped while crossing in front of me to look at the car and another from a kid who dragged his obviously annoyed mom over to the car to look at it when I was stopped to get gas.

Haha seriously? 3+ years later?

Also, if anyone has any ideas where I might pick up nismo RC front brake ducts, I'm all ears. 3 separate leads, all 3 fell through which is disappointing to say the least. How hard can these be to replicate anyway?!?

Finally installed my LED park lights they look sick but damn they are a pain in the *** to get to. Also put in LED License plate bulbs.

Pro-tip for those LED plate bulbs I discovered last weekend:

If you have issues with them losing contact and going out due to vibration - try removing them and bending the "prongs" at the base of the bulb outward a little so that they make better contact with the socket.

Daedalus V2 dual halos going in next weekend. Kinda excited.

That's what I did when I put mine in, works like a charm.

Mine kept going out and I spent a good 40 minutes folding up electrical tape and sqeezing it in between the bulb and socket before the "duh" moment hit me.

Track day Monday. Brakes serviced, suspension check, oil clean, tires checked, and of course more weight removed. About 15lbs.

Washed mine and waxed her till she glowed, then drove her around. She got new locking nuts that actually fit and look like they belong on the wheel.

Found out my clear bra has been breached right in the middle of the bumper. :( It's stopped (and shows some battlewounds) quite a few, but this one made it through.

Well it was an eventful 2 days for my car.
On Friday I plasti-dipped the wheels to see how I would like the black wheels on it which has since turned into a bit of trouble. Today I installed an new head-unit. It's a Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS.

Wheels turned out alright, once I get tired of the plasti dip I will probably just sand them down and actually spray them with black enamel. Trouble is when putting the wheels back on, I was spinning the security lug on the back drivers side wheel and the head of the security bolt sheared off. I wasn't torquing it down, I was simply spinning it on with a socket and it sheared. I looked at where it sheared of and there is literally corrosion where it sheared already.

Hopefully the dealership will fix as there's no way it should have sheared like that.

Unfortunately the head unit install went better but not flawlessly. I got the XM cable hidden pretty well all the way to the front, works well. However I could not get my bypass for the parking break to work nor have I been able to get the pac swi-ps to program. I got it set for mode 3 but it will not receive inputs. I assume 2 things are possibly going on, 1 its not properly grounded(I tried grounding to the bolt under shift boot) and/or I didn't get a perfect grip on the resist for the pac swi-ps. Iphone, XM and FM work well though, I hid the iphone cable in the cubby hole above the head unit.
