Also got my the370z.com window sticker (Thanks AK!). Gonna wait til I give it a proper wash and its a little warmer out to put it on. Or I suppose I could use a hairdryer to warm up the surface it's going on.

Took her to discount tire for a wheel balance. Had an awkward conversation with a guy who works there and has a PW Z. I think he was trying to sell me his old Injen intake lol.

Vacuumed the interior a bit with a cheap Made in China travel vacuum that we received last Christmas. :ugh: Cleaned the dash and stuff with Meguiars Ultimate. She really needs a wash but the roads are still wet from rain this morning.

Drove the Z.

Road therapy complete, albeit not the best ever. I don't understand why cyclists are on roads with no dedicated bike lanes, no shoulder, blind curves, and known to be packed with cars going over the speed limit.

Don't hate.
They're there for the same reason that you're on the road.
To enjoy the road.
Also, for the same reason that runners run on roads that don't have sidewalks or shoulders. Sometimes you just need to take those roads to get from point A to point B.

Installed Z1 Post MAF tubes and K&N air filters. The funniest part (NOT) was when the socket fell down in front of the drivers side air filter...I thought about removing the panels under the front to get it out but I noticed there was a hole big enough for the socket to fall through. Glad I kept the old antenna off my mustang...I used that to guide the socket to the hole and get it out.

Installed all 4 20mm spacers with extended studs. Really an easy job. Unfortunately realized how cheap the paint is on the calipers when the wheel slid off on one..

Took her out for a quick little canyon run.

Installed JDM fog and put 10sqft more of GTMat Quadro in the trunk. Also just passed my 3 year mark, will give my car the gift of registration renewal :icon17:

Went 'ice-skating' in my Z last night. Or was it 'snowboarding'? Any way, an interesting drive of about 5 blocks. First gear all the way, didn't have any problems until I tried to slow down and make a right turn. Did a lazy 180 into the middle of a deserted intersection, a couple of first gear, then reverse drills, then was able to get onto the street to my apartment complex. As long as the traction control light stayed off, I did okay. Into the garage without a scuff. Note to self: Need more weight in the butt.... :ugh2:

My insurance called me to confirm that my car is totaled :/

This will be the second Z that I have totaled. Both I got rear ended and were not my fault...

I spent 3 hours searching for one in the area that matches mine... but no Touring/Sport with low miles. I bought my parents a car and cant get another note. Im maxed out for now. So depending on what insurance gives me if I can squeeze in another Z than yes!

I thought about that too, but in which way is it the charm?
A. Its going to kill me <-- I should call it the Devils Z from wangan midnight
B. I can actually keep this one more than 3 years

DavidInIndy 12-24-2013 09:06 AM

Drove her this morning to work (won't be here long since it's Christmas eve). Temp indicator showed 7 degrees...and she was just fine. In fact, I didn't notice anything different compared to if it was 50 degrees. Actually had to turn off the seat warmer half-way through the drive.

BTW, this is my first Z, first Nissan, and first RWD vehicle. (I've still only had her less than a year.) With the winters here in Indy I had to talk myself into the car, hoping that by using some extra winter care in driving that I'd be alright. Well I'm here to say that the roadster has been just fine...even without snow tires. This has proven to me that it's not so much the car, but the driver is what matters. Not patting myself on the back, but I've seen plenty of FWD cars in ditches, while this RWD vehicle is just fine.

Still more than impressed with my first Z...even in these frigid conditions (at least for this former Californian). :D

uhhh... :wtf2:

please stay off the road where i drive. your confidence will wear out when you least expect it. dry roads are fine, wet roads in those temps are a different story when you need to make an emergency stop or maneuver. that's when the right tires will make a world of difference.

+1 to that. Exactly what I did. It's still warm here (heh, desert).

I also get to take pictures for my insurance. As they don't send adjusters to "rural" areas, I have to take pictures of my spoiler and rear bumper (people hitting my car while it's parked  ...)

Short day at work, though, so no biggie.
