Bye Bye Z
So I will be selling my Z soon and i have a couple of cars that im looking at.
-BMW 335is -2013 Audi s5 -Used Lexus isF 2011+ So while most of you will say "drive the car and see what you like" i would also like to hear about any experiences you guys have had with any of these cars. One of the main reasons why ill be selling the Z is because it is not very practical for daily driving. While the Z is extremely fun some things have just started to annoy me with time. With that in mind what do you guys think? I just want some more comfort without really losing much of the sporty feel of the Z oh and more space is a plus. Finally, i dont want a much slower car than my Z ( i have cb exhaust, hfc, and intakes ) and i dont mind having to mod a car a bit. All opinions welcomed :driving: |
Get the bimmer. Super mod friendly and cheaper to mod
|
335 for sure!
|
Ill sell you a 2010 super silver gtr 8k miles for $73k
|
Get a 370 roadster...
|
Of the three I would go with an S5.
The Supercharged engine is *extremely* flexible. The 335 is a beast no doubt but I see 3 series everywhere. I see far less A5s, let alone S5s. I prefer Audi's interior as well as MMI over iDrive 2.0. If you put a gun to my head and said pick a 3 series, the 335 would be it. Make mine white with red leather interior: a pretty rare combo. Curious though: when you say space how much do you really want/need? The two coupes are not home haulers by any stretch and I would only put people I don't like that much in the back seats unless children. :) - b |
Reliability would be with the iSF. Whichever sedan you pick will have more room than the 370.
|
I'd do the isf for looks and reliability. There are way to many 335s in the road.
|
ISF woud be my pick. 335 seems like the Acccord of BMW. S5 is nice but i'll never own a VW or AUDI because of reliability.
|
Well I don't need a car for a family so that much space is not required. I live in Miami though and going to the beach is a hassle because not even a small cooler fits in the trunk and I like to travel also and can barely fit a suitcase in the trunk.
Having some seats for my friends would be nice as well. As for what you guys have said about the 335is is true I hate seeing a 3 series EVERYWHERE. I hear the supercharged v6 in the Audi is great I could pull an extra 70-80 hp and torque out of the car easily with a pulley, exhaust, air filter and tune. The audi's interior is gorgeous, this car will be my dd and I know the Audi will be more comfortable I'm just worried it might not be as fun to drive as the BMW or isF. |
Isf ftw.

For what it's worth...my wife and I take my car on road trips as much as possible. I used to drive 2 hours to Ft. Myers every weekend and I had to put a 3x2x2 dog cage in the back, plus my travel bag and a separate bag for all of the dog stuff. Most times I also had my computer bag back there too because I would go straight from work.
Though it's not as practical as the other cars you're looking at...it can be done. If you really want to trade still...go with the Lexus. I feel like I see way too many BMWs on the road these days. |
Out of those 3 I would pick the ISF
|
Not considering the G37?

While you can carry a lot of things it's just a pain in the ***. |

Sounds like you're willing to spend quite a bit. If I were you, I'd keep the Z and get a Cube :icon17:
Good luck with your decision. |
Another vote for ISF
|
Get the isF because vertical exhaust pipes are so hawt!
|
Lexus. Reliability. Power. Reliability. Did I mention it won't leave you stranded on the side of the road?

Isf for sure
|
If you're debating an ISF you should be debating an M3 as well. The 335i, S5, and an IS 350 are all in the same ball park.
That being said, I would definitely choose the ISF out of your given list. If you add in the M3, it would be a tough choice between an ISF and an M3. |
I'm gonna throw in a vote for the S5. Sexiest body style of the three, imo, plus Audi AWD. Plus their interiors are pure secks
|
Correct me if I'm wrong, the ISF only comes in Auto no? I think your Z is auto so won't be an issue for you, a club member switched to one, looked nice, nice performance.
I personally love the A5/S5 but in Montreal, the are everywhere along with the 335. S5 will be comfortable for your travelling, its powerful, and classy as hell. If you have an issue with seeing lots of the same car, id go ISF...more rare and a good car. I voted Audi :) |
No I take it back...ISF after seeing that video :D

They are all fast cars, no doubt. Just a piece of advice though, a few years down the road... if you've ever owned a BMW or Audi (you guys know exactly what im talking about) ... Lexus offers what the others don't. Reliability... and Peace of Mind. ex: German car owner and affectionado. The headaches that came with them are not worth it. Of course, like all things in life.... I had to learn it the hard way :) Quote:

ISF hands down..great looking car...will be my next family car for sure..you can get a 08 for 30+ right now.
|
ISF hands down.
|
Here is my order
1. ISF 2. S5 3. 335i - I wouldn't even look at them on the road. Toooooo many of them! |
If you can get an IS-F why not an M3? The IS-F is inferior to the M3, yes its a good car but the M3 is just slightly better in almost all aspects.
|
I seriously doubt the BMW has the reliability of the Lexus.

I'd say they are about the same on reliability and you have a full warranty in case something goes wrong. BMW has been producing the M3 for decades whereas Lexus is relatively new to the high performance sport sedan game. I'll take decades of R&D and experience.
|
I'll go with ISF myself , it's still rare to see one on the road plus the reliability you get from lexus. The 335 is lame looking and too many on the road possibly because its been out since 2007 unless there is an all new 335 on the pipeline.

But he said he wanted a 335, and in that case my order is S5 335 ISF I know the Lexus is probably the best car, but it just doesn't do it for me. |

How about BMW M1?
|
very expensive for what you're getting and hard to find, BMW wanted to keep it exclusive. I've driven on on a few occasions and its a lot of fun and a great car, has the Z beat unfortunately especially with that smooth gearbox. However, good look finding one south of ~$50,000.00.
