It's a small matter but I would like to understand it. $32,000-$12,000(trade)=$20,000. Tax on $20,000 around $1,500? + stuff $200? That adds up to $21,800apx. Even if you took $32,000+tax+stuff that would be $33,800 with tax & stuff. Lets make it an even $34,000. Where did the other $1,000 bucks go?

OP is in California. California does not give credit for trade-ins. So the tax was on $32,000 which is $2640 in tax because San Jose has a 8.25% tax rate.

got my 2012 base for $29,250 before tax n licence in CA. nothing special tho. just a base.. they were pissed. they crossed off the first free oil change, but i still went in and got it anyway. lol
