I have an idea of what the motive might have been. The Z is, of course, a Japanese import. There are still many people in this country who don't like people buying anything but an American-made vehicle, and there are also those who still hold grudges against the Japanese. I own a Corvette and I mentioned that I also owned a Z on a Corvette forum a couple of years ago - the comments that some people made to me were unbelievable.
