DMHenderson, sorry to hear buddy. You should add that broken arm to the insurance bill ... I would ;)

Nah, that's my "idiot tax".

Oh well, at least I get to have that bird bomb clearcoat scuff I've been fuming over removed.

Edit: Angled to have the car piece-part repainted in black cherry but my shop said they couldn't justify it.

It's always sad to hear this happen to a fellow Z guy, let alone car guy. Hope he's paying for it all . How old was this guy?

onzedge 07-06-2012 05:19 PM

Hang in there man. I hope everything works out.

ts-c63 07-06-2012 05:21 PM

Sh1t sux, lost my 09 to a wreck. There seems to be enough damage for a possible total. It really just depends on your insurance company. I wish you well. And don't feel so bad about the car. The best part is that you weren't in it but you still got the guys insurance. You're paid bro, regardless.

Oh man, I'm sorry to see this happen to you OP

Don't sweat it, hopefully you have good insurance and can just get another one

as much as this sux's big dog balls, I agree here. You could be spending the next year in the hospital or worse. Remember that the insurance companies hire people to save them $, so let your insurance company deal with them and don't settle for less than you think you should be getting to replace the ride if totaled. Remember, you had to work to save for a year, so don't let them just take it away.

In the end some things work out I guess! Too bad the shop couldn't justify the extra cost.

Old enough to be smacked silly. Sometimes, I wish we were in a third world country... I've witnessed things like this get settle in the streets before the insurance company gets involved... You see what I mean?

Bad deal dude, at least YOU are OK. That would make me crazy! The most important thing is your alright and will live to drive another kicka** ride someday soon.

Let us know how it goes.

ts-c63 07-06-2012 06:36 PM

I'm just waiting for the police report to be ready and then I can get the ball rolling.. Rule number one guys park as far away from and human contact as possible !!! I learned the hard way :( ... I didn't even get to do a dounut in the car yet!

SPOHN 07-06-2012 06:39 PM

Sorry for ya. It's one thing if you did it. But for another is BS. It's not totaled. Hope it all goes smooth.

Baer383 07-06-2012 06:48 PM

I fix cars like that every day at work,it's bad but no where near total just find a reputable body shop and it will be as good as new.

Now (SPOHN)Chris car that's a different story.

I want to add my sympathies to what has already been posted here, so you know how much support you have. We all feel for you.

When I went to trade in my rear-ended car a couple of years ago, I was told it was worth about 20% less because of the accident. This was in spite of a frame-straightening repair that the shop promised was "as good as new". Be aware of this before you agree to any settlement!

Best of luck.
