Damn dude, that guy wasted a perfectly good can of tea.
![]() It sounds like the police officer was really cool. I know they can be...it's just so often they are a$$holes. Anyways, sorry that had to happen to your car. I'm hoping you catch up with that dude some day.

Wow the guy seems like an ******* for wayyy overreacting in the situation. I hope he doesn't try something stupid, like keying your car later on.
That's the bad part about our cars too. There are so few around most places that people can tell exactly which car yours is. It makes me have to drive more cautiously, since a lot of people see me driving around and several have commented on it. |

Sorry to hear that. If you're like me, I know how much I pamper my car and something like this would really get to me. There are a lot of people in the world who LOVE to prove that they were right and everybody else is wrong. It's a control issue and they're everywhere. Granted you were wrong and you know that but that didn't justify this guy throwing a can out his window at you which at any speed turns into a weapon. That's what they have horns for. Honk and move on! I had a similar issue when I had a Toyota pickup and this guy behind me thought I was going too slow and when he passed me, he threw a glass bottle at my truck but fortunately very little damage was done. It was late at night and I couldn't get his plate number. My many years of old man wisdom says let these creeps go. You never know what they're liable to do. All you can do is call the cops. Thats why we have insurance. Here's another example of these types of people. I was in Walmart one day and at the checkout line, I decided I didn't want the carrots that I had put in my cart. So knowing it wasn't a big deal and they would not go bad, I placed them on one of those candy/magazine shelves just before the conveyor belt. This guy who also was a customer behind me says "hey...those your carrots"? Another words he was saying to put them back, don't leave them there. I didn't respond to him but actually picked them up and gave them to the checkout lady. But that day which happened about 3 years ago will always stick in my mind. My way of internally dealing with people like this is to tell myself that they must be so unhappy with their lives that they need to display their righeousness and holier than thou, attitude. Moral of your story....tread lightly in dealing with strangers. It's a crazy world!

sorry to hear. i have a gopro mounted in my car not for road rage, but idiot bicycle ridors that dont obey traffic sign or ride single file in areas that are specified. someday they will hit my car and try to blame me. well, i have footage.
you can also get dash cams too. i recommend you get one especially if your ride is a hobby car. even if there are no events to report, you have cool footage of your car. ![]() |

Years ago a similar enough story. When the guy took off, before the cops arrived, I pulled out my house key and held it agaist his car hard. As he sped off, a deep gouge was left down the right side of his car. (Normally I do hate keying of cars)
I hope they catch your fukc bag.

It is always a good idea to aknowledge that you f'd up when you accidentally cut someone off... simply waiving and moving over to let the person pass is a good gesture. People are human and if I know someone is rightfully sorry for making a mistake I wouldn't take it out on them.
Additionally you really want to refrain from following people (and cutting them off/blocking them in) after an incident... he could very well have the same CCW or even be illegally carrying. Get a description of the vehicle and a plate if possible and let him go or at the very least give him a fair amount of distance... a scratched fender and a misunderstanding isn't worth a criminal record, a night in the hospital or the loss of your life. I had a drunk driver hit me from behind and take off... I called the police while following and once i got the plate they told me to stop following... if he runs and causes an accident that hurts someone you can be held partially at fault for pursuing. I question your local PD if they don't recommend the same and in addition they suggest you might want to carry a weapon in the future. I get that you have a right to defend yourself but an iced tea can doesn't require lethal force. Sorry to hear about your bad luck... |

Me personally, I'm sick of azzhole drivers and calling the police wouldn't stop me from bashing someones face in. And carrying is a whole other level. Remember that if you're in a right to carry state. You're not the ONLY one. So be prepared to shoot-out. I say, be careful, and when you make a mistake? Be courteous. If not? Suffer the consequences and don't whine over it. |

Yeah it was bad and it was during traffic time. While I was on the phone with the police she told me to stay in my car and not get out... by then he was at my window yelling and hollering. Oh we'll. I just wished I got his temp tag number down...
