Thanks.... I guess

I had to throw in how easy it really is to change your own oil and rattling it off was the only way that seemed appropriate.

Hope all works out for you John, i know most of the GTR mechanics i have met wont be a 400 pound man smoking a cigarette... yikes

If you were closer I would spin over and show you how to change it then you wouldnt have to stress over all the dealer crap.... BUT i think the GTR tech will be your safest bet.

Goodluck with everything!

I can understand your concern cause i am paranoid at times as well. Not so much about the weight of the techs but how they handle my car. Things like if they are using the mounting points correctly especially when i have after market side skirts that are lower than stock.

Another thing that bugs me is when the techs do not put a sheet of paper (dont know what the proper term is) on the seat when they they are wearing their filty work uniforms.

Will i be annoyed? Yes. Will i complain? No. Luckily for me my friend works at the dealership i go to so i can always make a request to have him work on it.

Not everyone have the skill or experience to change the oil themselves, eventhough it is not hard to do so. I go to the dealer cause its only 10 mins away and they only charge about 10 bucks for the service since i bring my own oil and filter. Not to mention i am lazy :P

Oh another thing that irks me is when the guy on the counter tells me their ester oil is better and it will void my warrently if i use other brand of oil

Are the 10-30 seconds to readjust your seat back that big of deal?

As long as they take care of the car, which I'm sure they will, who cares?

When I had my Mercedes, the lot guys (geez...I don't even know the correct term) were uh...mentally challenged? The owner of the dealership was part of some program that employed them. First time one of them curbed my wheel I went to the SA and told him that only him or his techs were allowed to move my car. Never had an issue after that. Ended up getting to be friends with the SA and he said it was a huge problem, they had tons of damage on customer's cars as well as new cars that the lot guys moved, but the owner was steadfast on giving them a chance. Now I'm all for programs like that, but let them do packaging or assemble simple stuff, but don't have them moving freakin' $50,000+ cars around.

I used to work w/ a handicapped guy who not only moved vehicles on our property, but also delivered them to municipalities and other clients. I was his supervisor. Imagine how that went.

Even w/ all the headaches he caused me, I still miss him. He was a nice guy lol.

lol its a 370Z at a nissan dealership man. They see 5+ of your car in their shop daily, they really don't look at it as it is something rare or completely awesome.

LOL no. I'd rather work on my car myself because I like doing it. Taking a car in for an oil change is just lazy to me. Takes -15-20 minutes and I know it was done right.
