Is really a dealer issue, when I had a BMW they treated me like a King down in Pensacola, FL dealer in Newport News, VA it was like I was driving a Geo Metro and the dealer was more ghetto than an used car one.

This thread has no validity. My nissan dealer kicks ***. It's the same as any other franchise, some operations are well run and have good customer service (these are generally the successful ones) and others less so.
Looks like your dealer is the latter. Oh well. |
i like my inifiniti dealer. lots of pretty people working there.
then i go over to mazda in the same town and it's like walmart city... :wtf: |

.....so true though. |
i have to say general public is stupid and mean.
chances are the dealer staff started out as outgoing, eager, happy crew. the public killed that for them. ive done retail while young and folks are brutal especially when they think they can get away with anything. only their management and its policies can keep their staff sane. last week i went to acehardware. everyone was nice. the aresehole was a middle-aged fat woman customer who was rude. |

Koppel Nissan was great to me when I came in the get a set of keys programmed its kind of a drive to get there and tolls but the nearby dealer ship is terrible, its always your fault and doing anything is made to seem like major issue.

I have had very few a problem with my dealer and they have compensated for any BS I ever had to go through... I've heard of guys in new Z06's getting shytty service on a $80k car... Sooo... this is overgeneralization due to your own personal stress. |
The two Nissan dealerships closest to me have both gone above and beyond for me. You can't assume the views of any one dealership are the views of Nissan as a company.

I know they are a sponsor and everything, but I was treated like crap at Koppel. Over the phone, they promised the world. When I got there (2 hours drive and 120 miles later), they pretty much ignored me and wouldn't even let me drive the car. I was ready to buy at the time (2009), but I ended up with a Prius that year and ended up with my 370 in 2010.
Back to the original topic. I got my car back after finding my wife to drive me to the dealership. I took it for four problems, they didn't fix any of them. If anything, they told me I have new problems. I took it in for the following #1 Inaccurate fuel gauge = They claimed the fuel sender is within spec even though I lost only 3 dots after running through 7 to 8 gallons of gas. #2 TPMS light flashed last week = They claimed my TPMS light came on because I had a wiring harness for my rear foglight/trailer, so nothing can be done. #3/#4 Transmission whine that goes away when you push the pedal in, 2nd gear clunks = They claimed it was all due to the trailer hitch even though I have had the problem since it was new Here are the new problems they told me I have #1 My transmission fluid was dirty (I put it in myself a month ago) #2 They claim there was a rattle from the trunk area due to the hitch hitting the muffler even though it is physically impossible for them to touch (there isn't enough slack). Funny thing I have never heard a noise from the trunk, rattle was never an issue with this car. #3 I had over 1000 codes in my ECU stored. If you have a good dealer, I suggest you keep up with them. This is the 8th Nissan dealership I have visited, they all suck more than Sasha Grey. I am still on the same Mercedes/Toyota dealership. |
wow, how did you net more than 1000 codes on the ecu stored? wat were the codes?
|
he couldn't tell me, why do you think I am fed up. I just love how they use my hitch as a scapgoat for everything. they are going to tell me my dogs fur or my backup camera is causing it next
|
Wow, they are probably blaming it on towing something too heavy and don't want anything to do with it, though I doubt you did.
The fuel gauge thing is caused by the shape of the tank rather then the sender. Though Nissan has had cases of bad senders on other models. I can drive 60miles and not have a light go out then it drops quickly to about 3/4 and is pretty consistent to about 1/3 haven't really run it lower then that often enough to know the last 1/3. THe tanks in the Z are shaped like an upside down U so there's a lot of fuel in the top end compared with the rest. Other cars are the opposite they drop quickly but take forever to get to E. |
 1,000 codes? I also don't understand the transmission thing. How would a trailer hitch cause a whine in the transmission? Is it just in neutral or also while in gear? It might be normal.
|
I didn't expect them to change the transmission now. the noise is normal if you can tolerate is. I think all the z do it to a point, not enough people are throwing a fit on it.
I understand the gauge is shady at best, but the problem is definitely getting worse. I have 1 year left under warranty, I just wanted to have the part replaced before it fails completely |
