How do you guys feel about JDM decals?

Something like this:

http://grfxpstore.com/photos/0000/09...0696small.jpeg

Childish? Humorous? Gives the car personality?

gurneyeagle 06-20-2012 06:19 AM

If you're sporting a sponsor logo or two, that's fine with me. This monstrosity looks like something you'd find in a high school parking lot in Loser Town, USA.

"No Fat Chicks", "Gangsta", "F#ck"? Give me a break, you can't get any more low rent trash.

Amuse370z 06-20-2012 06:43 AM

Even if it is done in a cleaner way?

I think they look childish/silly. I just want to rip them off whenever I see them. And it's always the kids with the cheap, slow cars that seem to have the most of them.

RandyD 06-20-2012 06:56 AM

yep - not a fan. 'maybe' one somewhere discreet.. not a whole swath of them...

m4a1mustang 06-20-2012 06:57 AM

The "you like this" is the one that gets me the most. I am like, "no, I don't like your piece of crap." I want to write "unlike" on top of that sticker the next time I see it. :icon17:

Had a Scion tC with a big "you like this" sticker on his rear bumper near the exhaust tip cut me off last year coming back from the beach. AWWW HELL NO!!!!

:iagree:

If you HAVE to do it, get one that's a bit subtle and put it somewhere that doesn't make the car look like a piece of crap. Basically anywhere you can't see it. :p

Where's the flames to go with the decals?

Amuse370z 06-20-2012 07:19 AM

Haha I won't lie, I think its pretty cool and gives the car personality.
But, I can see how it can be seen in a negative way.

Looks like us Z guys are more mature compared to the Civic guys :)

GaleForce 06-20-2012 07:19 AM

Each sticker is worth +5hp on the butt Dyno....

I say no stickers, unless you are repping a sponsor at a car show and it is required as per the contract/sponsorship deal.

Several "legitimate" ones; i.e. products installed on the car are fine with me. The rest of of the stickers displayed by the OP were nothing more than low rent bumper stickers applied to the windshield.

If you are going to drive a $35k+ car, you should be mature enough to realize that fact.

Red__Zed 06-20-2012 07:36 AM

Makes me think of civic hatches doing one wheel peels out of the high school parking lot

Amuse370z 06-20-2012 07:39 AM

I want one of the ones that says "the objects in the mirror appear to be losing".

I saw one before at a car show.

kenchan 06-20-2012 08:41 AM

I don't like stickers on my cars. Workbench ok.

Red__Zed 06-20-2012 08:49 AM

Two other notes:

-I love how the image chosen for discussion of jdm stickers is of a euro car
- :icon17: at fwdsucks sticker

IDZRVIT 06-20-2012 08:50 AM

I told my dealer to remove his dealership name decal or pay me for advertising. And there it was, gone!

370ZilverZ 06-20-2012 08:56 AM

Some of the Piece Of Sh!t cars that have them, rely on them to keep the car together and some of the parts from falling off as they drive away sounding like a bad fart.

:iagree:

i have this one. and one for the dragon.. and one for MAZOC... but they are subtle.

DEpointfive0 06-20-2012 09:07 AM

LOL!!! That might be "clean" to you, but IMHO it's REALLY ricer and there is a reason your picture is on a Civic, LOL

Granted, you're making the payments, so do what you want, but if I drove past you, I'd definitely say to myself, wait, I might even say to you, what the fućk did you do with the car? You made your $30k+ car look like, well... A child's $15k Civic

(I also have nothing wrong with a Civic as a car, amazingly reliable and it gets great gas mileage, so I DO have respect for it, I just HATE the ricers who drive them... Usually)

I actually know a few Z guys that have stickers on their windows lol

DEpointfive0 06-20-2012 09:22 AM

By the way, the picture of the Civic's stickers aren't JDM... They're just funny stickers, like "kinda flush" and "be patient, I'm lowered". I'm ok with those that are funny.

I'm about to order some stickers that say "Hellafunctional, driven, not hard parked" JUST for the ricers who slam their cars. Lol

But please just choose one or two, not 15 of them

MattP725 06-20-2012 09:43 AM

I aways see it as a way to hide the fact that your car isn't nice enough to stand out on its own.

bjblackout 06-20-2012 09:46 AM

So junky looking. This is the perfect way to make your car look like crap!!

Good answer.

I think this thread sums up these stickers pretty well!

Unless, of course, more is more... which it usually is.

same can be said for those with decorative tow hooks..:ugh2:

PapoZalsa 06-20-2012 02:41 PM

I really don't like decals on my car, with the state inspection and base sticker is enough for me.

The only one that I like to rock is the370Z.com one.

DarkZ 06-20-2012 02:44 PM

The ONLY sticker that I might even consider putting on the rear window of any vehicle is this one:

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a11...tickfigure.jpg

What else would you need? :icon17:

TheGreatOne 06-20-2012 03:22 PM

^^^
Haha...awesome

Its funny, stickers/decals went away, now they are making a big comeback

It seems in the drift community it got big again, people trade and exchange stickers as a fun/respect thing.

I noticed a lot of Euro and Honda guys will do a whole front lip in stickers

Any decals besides my car club go in the engine bay

JARblue 06-20-2012 03:37 PM

JDM stickers are only appropriate on a RHD Z :stirthepot:

The only sticker I like is the forum one, and it didn't even make it on the Z :icon17:
