My gf said the same thing this past weekend. I was travelling about 70mph, put it in fourth and went all the way up to redline. (around 120?) It wasn't that fast to me as I've owned much faster cars prior, but when I told her we just did 120, all she can say is "wow, that didn't feel like it at all."

How about LadyBoys? Just don't have the pictures! haha
Just playing around with you! Peace!

You wanna really feel how the Z kicks?
Try turning off the Traction Control.
Rev at 5K-6k rpm at 4th gear then shift to 5th gear you will see your spirit fly in the air!:icon18:

Isn't that amazing it just means how well the Z is balanced!

I've had my Z for about two months now and am just getting around to pushing it a bit after break in. My wife and I took a nice back roads ~200mi trip yesterday. I have to admit that I'm just not impressed at this car's acceleration. Honestly, getting up to 80mph or so under hard acceleration feels like my 240sx. I know these are not a straight line speed kind of car, but I am still expecting some put you in the back of the seat feeling. Anyone else feel this way?

nope. car will get you in trouble in 5 sec. that's plenty fast.

...Hmmm stock 240 SX does zero to 60 in about 8 seconds and 370z does it in about 5 seconds.

I owned a 240 sx too and that truck engine powered car accelerated like a tractor. My Sentra SER was faster. Perhaps youre driving the Z like 240 SX and shifting before you get to 5000 RPM. Z actually makes power to it's 7500 rpm redline. Shift down and use some of those RPMs!

As mentioned by many previously, you need to wring out the Z to get the fun out of it. Torque is not really noticeable until 4K and I agree with those who stated that ~4500-5k and above the car really wakes up. The Z is by no means a straight line speedster so if you are traveling on long roads that are straight for the most part it should not tickle your balls. If you are going up a mountain road and are able to keep it in the powerband you'll be smiling ear to ear.

It is funny, at the track with a 2012 911S directly in front of me, he can not get away nor can I pass. I wonder if he thinks 240sx accelleration as well.

I do have CBE & CAI.

I can get into the. 140's pretty quick. Not v8 quick but not lagging horribly either. The 150ms are another story.

I say just go FI. These cars shoula had an FI option from the factory. :(

Nothing more to say really since it seems everyone is spot on with their comments (except for the 335i being faster than the Z lol, which from reading, seems they are about the same stock, and I havent had a problem with them on the road...).

I had the same thoughts at first after break in. For some strange reason, I felt like the car got faster and faster with more time... then I added mods and have no complaints.... It definitely runs on a powerband from peak torque at 5,000 rpm to peak HP at 7,500 (or 7,000) rpms....

Which is why I rev my engine so hard. I've never been past 120 MPH so can't address issue of getting to 140.

This car is smooth and cat subtle. 100mph is a non event. Its deceptive and amazing.
