While I wouldn't go out of my way to change the badge, I like the Fairlady moniker. It has more heritage and makes it so that the model name isn't just a hodgepodge of numbers and letters like so many other cars now (335is, TL, S60, M4-12C, CTS, etc).

It's my personal opinion that Nissan engineers are likely proud that Americans do this as a tribute to their work. Let's not forget why the American version isn't badged as fairlady, it' s not because it's left hand drive.

I don't think anyone here is putting the badge on to be a poser. No one here thinks they have the jap version. I think the vast majority simply do it because they love their car. If we were posers we would order it in japanese writing

Is there any difference, other than right hand drive, that the Jap cars have?

I think he called me an idiot and either suggested I should be put on an ignore list or said he was putting me on his.

I'm not pro japanese so my translation could be off. I guess everyone with my opinion is stupid and should be ignored?

Do japanese cars not have japanese emblems on them? Maybe that is my confusion...

EDIT: After doing some research it appears that on japanese cars they use romaji. This could be different for some cars? I don't live in japan so I don't know, all I have is the internet. So I'm still confused why I'm an idiot.

Japanese cars do not have Japanese emblems on them, as you say they use romaji just like everybody else does. Sometimes a trim level may be in Kanji or something, but typically they don't bother b/c it's expensive to make the badges lol.
