Took the Z out yesterday when it was 103 and those oil temps hit 225 just cruising at 50mph in 5th. Oil cooler is next mod

hi mr.zman- :hello: holycraps! sounds good about the oil temp.

i was driving pretty hard yesterday in 90F and my oil temp was constant at 220F. i just mobil1 silver cap. im not certain or have any scientific data, but i read mobil1 keeps temps cooler for something or another.

hi mr.gale. :hello: sounds good that you got your cupholder thingie and stands straight. :rofl2: you might want to try making a tripod mount for your zoom if you your zoom has a tripod mount hole? :)

for mine i just drilled 2 holes into the base and mounted a thin piece of metal with the tripod knob and e-clip on the other side so my knob doesn't fall off. :rofl2:

on the base, i added some 5mm thick weather seal stripping blocks on the bottom half of the part of the base extenders. this is to prevent the extenders from holding onto the painted cupholder ring on the Z. that part vibrated on my car in certain frequencies when the tascam was attached.

after pulling out the cupholder assembly i pulled apart the painted ring and put a piece of e-tape sandwiched between the painted trim clip part and the base plastic for a secure fit. you'll know wat i mean if you pull your cupholder assy out of the center console and see the passenger side of the ring. yours might not vibrate though with your zoom attached. :)

The Zoom does have the tripod mount  I just need to find some time for modding. Thanks for the helpful info

Hi all! The morning/day kind of got away from me. Work is nuts for the next few weeks.

Belated birthday wishes mr. alcheng. I apologize for missing that yesterday.

ms. pint - it breaks my heart to read your posts. You're a true sweetheart and I wish you nothing but the best; it's what you deserve. There's not a whole lot a bunch of strangers on an internet forum can really tell you other than we truly care for you and hope you come out of all of this happier, however the way things turnout.

Coffee and Cars this weekend; something to get me through the weekend. I'll be back at work afterwards on Saturday and most of Sunday too.

If I don't get back to you guys tomorrow, have a safe and fun weekend. :tiphat:

As Mr. Kenchan might say "GoodPM".

Pintsize725 07-05-2012 09:32 PM

Thank you all guys for the emotional support. It really means alot to me. I'm unsure of what the outcome is but we are much closer to separation now than we have ever been.

Z related: I've been enjoying some spirited drives lately. I'm finally getting used to the power. :)

I spent a good 4 hours yesterday on my Z inside cleaning, leather conditioning, etc. She also received engine bay cleaning and a nose-to-tail coast of Meguiar's Ultimate paste wax. It would have taken longer if I was not obsessed with keeping my car clean at all times.

Anyway, I am showing my 370 tomorrow night here:

First Friday | Fountains at Roseville

I think I am more interested in seeing other folks' Z's and am taking many pictures. It is my first time showing, so I hope they are gentle with me.

Splitting up is always a two-edged sword (I have ample experience). It is both painful and liberating at the same time. Try to focus on the liberating part.

Also, make sure to collect some hair, toenail clippings, an old toothbrush or something that your mate was in intimate contact with. You may think this is weird, but it is not at all. These items are essential if you ever need to cast a hex or make a voodoo doll. Trust me on this one.

Very nice! Im sure you will be well recieved. Please take plenty of pics. :)

What did you treat your leather with?

Next question: what attachments are you using on the Onzedge Vacmaster 5000 to get in the nooks and crannies?

I use Meguiar's leather conditioner and the standard attachment with the Vacmaster -- the skinny one. I also use a miniature California car duster thing inside. Clean glass is my Achille's heel, though.

happytheman 07-05-2012 10:08 PM

Hmm, must purchase this:

RIDGID 3-Piece Adapter Kit VT1755 at The Home Depot

See, I bought this:

1 1/4" mini kit, but Vacmaster is 1 7/8"

I don't know if that's good or bad. I'm going to go with bad. Perhaps this is why she's your ex? :)

My glass never looks all that great:shakes head: My Z is in need of an interior detail BADLY. Havent cleaned the inside since right before ZDAYZ. :ugh2:

Happy Friday guys :hello: Its been a brutal week of installing hot tubs in the heat even with Wed off. Im burnt to a crisp.

happytheman 07-06-2012 07:09 AM

Alchemy, Melanoma is not your friend. :(

I've been using Meguiars Leather Wipes, but need to give 'em a treatment too.

Woke up waaaaaaaaaay late this am, but don't really give a fark! I'm in no hurry, sipping my coffee with my feet up on the back porch.

I'll be motoring my Z in 30! :)

Have a great day all! Its Friday!

Blazing heat here too, Ken. No relief this weekend either. Luckily I get to take a dip in the pools here at my job after a long hot day  Always refreshing. Plus it cleans my sweaty body off before I climb into my Z :icon17:

Bucketlist2012 07-06-2012 08:59 AM

Yo,Yo,Yo...

I hope you all have a good day. Dragging my A$$ today.

Found a leak upstairs in the bathroom last night, and was pulling sheetrock... House maintinence is going to eat some cash, but that is part of the deal..

Tracie keep your head up..Most of us have been through hell and back, and we are still here. Good luck with whichever way it goes..You will end up smarter and stronger either way. But yes it sucks.

speedfreek 07-06-2012 09:06 AM

What are you all cleaning your glass with that you can't get it clean? I use Stoner's Invisible Glass...a bit more pricey but seems to clean the glass the best I have seen.

I use the spray foam Ammonia glass cleaners..they seem to cut the grease.

Also I clean them twice.
