At this point she's decided to sacrifice on the car for something that's cheaper and more economical (more saving and spending $$$ is always good). We are thinking a $250 lease payment on something around $25K would be ideal. Of course, the accountant is way more fiscally responsible, as everything I suggest hits 30-35K with options and quickly becomes a $400-500 monthly payment. The Acura ILX recently caught her eye, and I had never heard of it. Seems a bit weak imo, but the styling isn't bad, Acura's aren't too bad, and the base model will still be a little more premium than a Honda or something.

hey the ILX is pretty cool, i think. it's using the same chassis as the civic, but boasts more luxury. honestly though, if saving money is the goal i would get something like the new honda accord if honda is the brand of choice...and just keep the payments low. it's not a bad car, just not exciting in any way shape or form. the coupe is a little sportier looking but the sedan imho looks better for the current-gen 4banger versions. :)

my local honda dealer priced one out for me a while back and came cheaper than a FitSport. lol especially the lease was a great deal. one of the staff at work wanted to get one and had me talk to the usual sales guy at honda.

Get to feeling better JAR!

Thanks everybody! :tiphat:

Sounds like I probably would have been scowling at the idiot for his driving when I passed him. I tend to give people this :ugh2: whenever I see unsafe or rude maneuvers. I notice that most people are scowling when they drive (or at least look somewhat unhappy). In that light, I have made a conscious decision to listen to more comedy (FM 102.7 in ATX) so that I'm almost always smiling and even laughing heartily on occasion when people see me driving.

I'm always nice to people when they cut me off. I let them know that they are number 1!

Was behind two trucks and waiting for them to pull into the right lane,.,,then floored it up to around 90....I looked to the sides and infront of me .should have looked behind ..state trooper right behind me...I pulled into the right lane and SHE went right by me..while intently talking on the radio..

Lucky day!

I agree completely about the 4-door Accords. The lease on the ILX is pretty exceptional right now, as well. Honda isn't necessarily brand of choice, just one of the better ones. I've always thought the Accord is kind of pricey, but that's probably cause I've never looked at anything other than the 6MT versions :icon17:

haha, yah, the V6 ones are $28-30K territory with some options for sure.
the base sedan 4banger with MT (not sure if MT is still offered) was like $18K, where as a comparable FitSport was $19.5K+

plus if they have sale and lease deals going on, you can get the payments very low. like $3K down <$250 or something for a 39month. i would also check out the Chevy Cruze if you're looking at economy sedans. the cruze has some options to make it look pretty nice.

I think Tax. She passed BEC earlier this year for the first time, which started her countdown again after letting two credits expire. FAR is the only one she hasn't passed at least once.

NICE!!!

I actually lied, she is taking Audit next but not until a couple week into July. I was wondering about her decision to take FAR last... She got into trouble with BEC getting a 74, 69, and 73 in that order before finally passing it with a 75. Those few months were not very pleasant in our household :icon17:

I have M-F job, but I tend to work weekends occasionally. What I really meant is that today is busy and I don't feel well. In fact, I am home now trying to get work done, but you guys are so distracting :icon17:

hey there, mr.alcheng! :hello:

actually your wheels look fine. you'd probably want to push out the rear another 10mm or so, but that's about all it would take, i think. :)

I am thinking about 5mm on at the back... but might as well just save the $$, wanna get something with longer spokes probably next season.

BTW, talk with a fellow last night about the exhaust, and he told me the Invidia exhaust does have some issues, mainly is the sections are connect and tighten by clips, instead of bolts, so there is a very high possibility of exhaust leak... I will have to do some research on this before I make the decision.... :icon17:

My apologies :tiphat: :icon17:

Looking at exhausts, I think one of my main concerns is fitment. I want to make sure is sounds good, first and foremost, but fitment is a close second. Of course, I think this is down the road for me - maybe 6-12 months from now.

JARblue 06-29-2012 12:28 PM

I really like this shift knob, but for that kind of money, I'll get the Desert Eagle black pearl finish from TWM. Plus, I'm not really sure whether a 350Z shift knob would fit a 370Z. My google research did not turn up anything definitive.

sounds good. ahh, i think bora uses a similar design where the thing is like in a zillion pieces and you have to put them all together with clamps. lol

im sure a competent installer can do a fine job though. :)
