Going to order some overlays from bluebat guy as a reward to myself.

 which overlays are you thinking of getting? :)

Good luck with the counseling. I hope it was productive. :)

i like his glossy black roof. i dont plan on doing it on mine but on a white Z, looks :yum:

kenchan 08-07-2012 01:54 PM

i think i might stop by the chevy dealer tonight.

wait, did kenchan just say that? i dont think ive EVER posted that on the car forums!

my local dealer apparently has 3 sonic hatch LTZ (blue, black, orange) 1.4L turbo 6MT. i thinks i want the blue one. they even have cash offer. :icon17:

I like it.

I've been thinking about those for a while... full cover front and rear lights + 3rd brake light... some day I'll pull the trigger :icon17:

Drove the Z for the first time in a week and it felt so good. I took a trip to Vegas and had a new Ford Explorer rental car as I had to bring my GF and a couple that was getting married and hired me to do their photography and it was ok, I liked the Sync but the car was slow and had incredibly low limits... Even lower than our RX400h and I thought that was an understeering beast.

Driving over a thousand miles in the Explorer and then driving the Z makes me appreciate my Z so much!

i wants hatchback (box). :icon17:

so far:
1) Impreza sport premium 5MT = #1 on list, but no one has in-stock. :ugh2:

2) Honda fit sport 5MT = #2 on list. the 08' i had was just too cramped up front with the pedals, but the current gen is not bad. not sure why i keep missing test drive on the black one. :ugh2: I might head out to another dealer with 2 silvers in-stock.

3) Impreza sport premium CVT = kinda boring... but i can give to wife in 2yrs.

4) others:
MS3 (new) = was my original plan, but not as good as i thought. :(
xB (new) = fail. too stupid looking up close.
WRX STI (used) = modded so didnt want.
WRX STI (used) = it looks fine, but carfax states car was in an accident.
WRX (new) = not bad, but wheels are fugly and pricy for wat im looking for.

Mr.kenchan.

I will suggest you go for the (3).

It seems the CVT is a boring option, but heck, it's a DD anyway, and after 2 years, you will pass it to Mrs and get a real DD of your choice... such as another coupe. If you take the MT, you will stuck with this not-so-exciting DD forever... :ugh2:

(3) !!!

but but but...mr. alcheng... how about sonic ltz turble (turbo) with 6MT? no go?

i mean yah, if i buy this thing (sonic) i would have to drive it for much more than 2yrs.... :ugh2: and if i make one negative comment, my wife will wink at me and say, 'i told you so.' :wtf2:

so (3)?

FWIW kenchan my daily driver is an automatic and I find it more liberating than boring, and I still have the Z when I want to have fun anyway. :)

hey there DLSTR :hello: i forgot to mention. i did check out the GTI. it is a nice car, but i am not a fan of the wheels it comes with and the dealer was pretty firm on their price. it's in the high end of the price i want to spend on this 'utility' car, and honestly i did not connect with the GTI. would still get the MS3 over the GTI as i can get it cheaper and the MS3's handling is sharper and overall more performance oriented... just felt cheap doing it. :ugh2:

but then the issue was if im spending that kind of money on a hatch, why not spend a tad more and see if i can find a clean used STI-hatch. but then i can't locate one in my area that is stock. so im like if im not going to get what at i really like anyway, just go cheap. :icon17:

i found that there's no car in the mid-$20K range that i WANT. :ugh2: it's either sub $18K (cheap so who cares, i will buy it) or above $32K (it's out of my range for this winter beater).

Nah, I just mean when I'm using the car for 100% driving in crappy traffic I love being able to just mash the gas or hit the brakes and not worry about what gear I'm in. Plus my wife doesn't drive stick so she can share driving duties then. It's a car I don't care about, and the less I care when I drive it the happier I am. :happydance:

But I still greatly prefer driving a manual when I am not 75% sure when I leave the house that I'll be going 0 - 10 mph for most of my drive.

davey- i see... perhaps i just need to slow down. :icon17: i have no issue driving AT cars at night time. i like to just kick-back, check out the lights, and cruise.

yah, 0-10mph especially if uphill is a pita on MT. my commute isn't too bad so the G's MT does fine.

im going to think about this some more tonight and decide soon. the local subaru dealer does have the color i want in cvt coming to them in about 10days. another dealer has a 5MT coming to them but in silver (not a color i want). do i really want 3 silver cars? lol :rofl2:
