:hello: everyone!

Have missed y'all, but $hit hit the fan after we got back from vacation. We came home to a tree branch in the driveway (hackberry branch about 10" in diameter - pics will be posted whenever I get a break), and a call about some reports that all of a sudden have to be out Monday (I was planning to get them out by the end of next week). I spent my wife's 30th birthday today working when I was planning to spend the day with her at home relaxing (the beach was great, but vacation isn't always entirely relaxing). We have to cut short our evening tonight so I can be coherent and go into the office tomorrow morning to work all day. Hopefully I can be efficient enough and cut the right corners to get the remaining 40+ hours worth of work these four reports and analysis spreadsheets need done in about 20 hours. If I can do that and just leave inserting the photos into the reports for Sunday, then I can have a good time Saturday night without having to worry about getting up too early. We're meeting a group of friends at Peche, a local gin and absinthe bar with a prohibition speakeasy feel and the art of bartending is not forgotten. They make all their own bitters, too. As part of this celebration, we will be bringing with us the last two bottles of what was a case of 1981 Château Lafite Rothschild (that my grandfather purchased, of which he did a different top grape for each of his four grandchildren) On another positive note, we picked up my wife's new Acura at lunch. I was kind of disappointed with my experience in general, but the incredible timing of the delivery after they couldn't give me any updates more than made up for it. So there's my rambling update for everyone. I hope to get some time this week to catch up on some of the goings on the past week as well as get pictures and some videos (of the intake before/after) edited and posted. Gonna slam some espresso and maybe a few red bulls later to try and stay awake and have a good time this weekend.

:hello:

Here's some 2 min edits for y'all:
Pic1: Z isn't going anywhere
Pic2: Z is ready for anything
Pic3: During the clearing (wife even brought me a beer and helped a little)
Pic4: Best close up I've got of the tree limb for now (you can see the split extends up to the right, too)
Pic5: New Acura ILX (love the upside down dealer plate - frame and all)
Pic6: Side view of Acura ILX

Sup fellas?

I'm waiting on JeffBlue and Toxik to get here... they are leaving NYC now so it will be a while.

I had a good day. Stopped to fuel up before heading to the gun store. A guy with an e92 M3 pulled in behind me to fill up as well and he started asking me all sorts of 5.0 questions. Ended up talking shop with him for 10 minutes or so after I finished pumping gas. Nice guy.

Went to my favorite local gun shop to look at the Glock 19 and Glock 17. I already have a 26 and was determined to go and only buy one. It was going to be a tough decision between the two but I thought the 19 had the advantage because the last time I held the 17 I didn't like it as much. Well... I hold both... and I LOVE them. Ugh.

Ask the guy to put them up and show me 1911s while I try to make my mind up on the 17 or 19. My boss wants a 1911 so I was looking around to see if there was anything he would like. Sure enough I found a few I know he'd like. Problem is I like them too. So not only do I want the 17/19 I now want a 1911... Not today, I tell myself. I'll get a 1911 later.

Tell the salesman I need to think about it some more and walk around the store looking at stuff. Come back... I want both.

Bought both and headed to the range. Rangemaster laughed at me for bringing 4 pistols (G26/19/17 and a Kahr CM9). I laughed at me too. Next time I'm going to bring two max.

Had a good time.

Stopped at Wally World to see if they had some cleaning patches or any other ammo other than Federal Champion in 9mm. No dice. But I did get to park next to a BS 370Z Coupe with sport package!

And now I'm here!

Thanks Mr. Happy :tiphat:

When it rains, it pours. We're in the flash flood stages (not literally, although it has been raining a lot), but nothing is washing away. Everything will be fine. I'm just going to have to suck it up, and my wife is awesome about everything. Of course she is irritated, but she understands getting mad at me doesn't help anything. Now it's my responsibility when we're out celebrating not to be the Debbie Downer or Party Pooper or whatever you want to call it. One more espresso and I think I'll be good.

In other news, JeffBlue and toxik are late as hell. ETA 2AM. Good thing Cwiz is gonna be here soon so he can keep me entertained while I stay up to wait for those NY fuckers!

This is the one I think I'm gonna buy. Springfield 1911A1. It's not flashy, looks like the old service 1911s. Thats what I like.

Gun shop had it listed at $850. Gonna try to get my boss to go out there with me in the next few weeks so he can get one for himself.

I went to the corner store to look at their candy bars today. I'd been thinking about either getting a Snickers or a Butterfinger. I already had a Baby Ruth, but I really wanted another candy bar. I held each one in my hand, knowing that both were really tasty. Ugh. What a tough decision.

I put both down, while trying to choose between the two I picked up a Hershey's bar. My wife really likes Hershey's bars. Should I buy her one?

I bought all three. Spent $3.50! My wife laughed at me for bringing four candy bars home!

It was a great day!

Yes, work is busy. The good news is my expertise is needed in a different area, it's cooler (temperature wise) and is loaded with a bunch of new technology to work with. I'll be back to my regular posting in 3 weeks.

Nothing but sun, heat, and 135% humidity here. Swimming lessons for Mini GaleForce this morning. I also need to make a trip to the transfer station to get rid of some drywall scrap, and I need to do some painting in the basement... But I really need to take the Z out of the garage, I need more hours in a day. :ugh2:

Do you use a polarizer? A polarizer cuts shine and lets the colors pop...especially if a lake ir pond involved-cool-photography in the rain! :icon17:
