Nose to the grindstone again today.

Looks like mrs. gurney will be getting a new car soon. Time to trade-in the MDX; it's too big for our needs now, barely fits in the new garage, and is six years old (a record for the gurney household).

Current contenders are 2013 Acura RDX (my choice :happydance:), 2012 Honda CR-V (ms. gurney's choice - she's cheap :icon17:), and the darkhorse candidate making a run for the title - 2013 Mazda CX-5.

How's the condition on the MDX? Would you be interested in selling? At 6 years old we might actually be able to afford one :p PM me if you want

The RDX is slick for sure.

Pretty impressive for a Z!

We get 400+ miles on 16 gallons pretty regularly (25+ mph ~80% highway). Although I have noticed that the overall avg mpg for the life of the car has gone from 22.4 to the 19.7 its currently at - I think it dropped from about 21.5 to the current 19.7 in the last 6 weeks since I got the intake installed :icon17: I can't help it that I want to hear it more and I have to go WOT to do that.

Good morning y'all! Man I must be doing something wrong if you guys are averaging that type of mpg. I'm always at about 21.x mpg.

This weekend is shaping-up to be shop and drive time. The CX-5 is a great value - same price as the CR-V with a lot more features.

I think once the misses sees what she will be giving up equipment-wise going from the MDX to a CR-V/CX-5; i.e. memory seats, power, quality of materials, etc., she may change her mind. However, don't underestimate ms. gurney's stubborn streak just to make a point. :bowrofl:

In the end, it's her car, so it's her choice. At our age, and the limited mileage we now put on our cars since the move to Houston, this could theoretically be her last car.

I MIGHT hit 7,500 miles on my Z this first year of ownership, and that's with three major road trips and a cruise a month. Not bad for a daily driver. Ms. gurney's commute is a whopping five mile round trip now.

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted on events as they unfold.

Have a great day all! :tiphat:

P.S. mr. happy - any luck with finding some new wheel studs for the spacers?

Good morning fellas. :hello:

One word for you: Juke. I just took her to Long Beach and back -- about 840 miles round trip. It is a blast to drive on the highway.

It is not all that bad in the back, unless "adult" means tall or large people.

Mechanically, the car is in great shape with 75k miles. It's got the usual number of parking lot door dings you would expect on a 6 year-old car. Ms. gurney managed a doctor's office back in LA, and the senior patient's always dinged everyone's cars trying to get out of their cars.

Interior is in excellent shape with the exception of the side bolster on the driver's seat where I rubbed some of the dye off the leather in an attempt to clean it.

I have no idea what the trade-in value is, and if it's too low, I may just keep the thing for my daily driver.

I'll keep you posted.

We both love the Juke, but the back seat and cargo area is just too small. We still make a few rode trips with gurney jr., so luggage space is a must too.

Excellent, please do. :tiphat: KBB trade-in value looked to be upwards of $16K and the expected purchase price for private buyer looked to be upwards of $18K. But of course I don't have any facts on the vehicle other than year, model, and mileage.

Good morning

I don't think I'll be healed enough to work on the car this weekend :crying:

For a 370Z.com brother and fellow Texan, you get the insider price of $20K!

Honestly, I have no idea what I'll be offered for a trade-in, but I'll certainly let you know. One thing to keep in mind though is that I get a sales tax break with a trade-in.

All of this assumes you would be happy with the car of course. It's the 2007-only color of Aberdeen Green with a parchment interior. No nav system, no roof rack. All season floor mats and cargo mat. Tires have 10k on them and all the fluids - both diffs and transmission were all changed within the last 5k miles. Nothing but synthetic oil changed every 6k miles.
