I think in 30 years it will be a classic with out a doubt.

I'd like to think that the 370Z has a decent chance at becoming a classic. They stand out due to their rarity and more unique styling. And performance is good and sales are low enough that well-maintained examples could retain good value.

The biggest thing that I think is going against it is that Nissan is lending so much of the Z's styling to its other cars, such as the Altima, Maxima, and even the Juke. The fact that they share a lot of styling characteristics (boomerang lights, more flared bodies) might end up diluting the appeal of the 370's lines.

Can we define what a "classic" is?

Mt Tam I am 06-05-2012 09:54 AM

My choice is missing: maybe in a few years (during my lifetime)

2011 Nismo#91 06-05-2012 10:16 AM

I didn't like any of the choices so I picked the one best for me =)

Anyway there is nothing really revolutionary about this gen of Z. Technical, Performance, or feature wise. So no points for it being the first to do something.
Will it be the last Z in some major respect? Last NA, Last large displacement, last non hybrid, etc? I don't think anyone can say for sure so "maybe" in my lifetime.

One thing came to mind, Syncro rev matching. This is new and unique to a MT.

I don't think so.

It is a great car, and I LOVE everything about mine... but it's just not ground breaking enough. It is NOT a car that everyone is talking about.

It isn't going to be though of like the BRZ/FRS or even the GTR.

Sure it has Synchro-rev match, but it's not hugely popular... not to mention that it's the ONLY car it has ever been offered on. Remember when S2000 owners used to rave about their 120hp per liter? Exactly.

Thread Bump. I wanted to let you all know that our car will much indeed become a classic. Almost every single day I drive around, I have random people come up to me and ask me things about my car. They also leave quite a few good comments in the conversation.

Put it this way, Ford produced more than double the amount of 2013 Mustangs on the street than the production years (2009-2013) 370z.

If you don't believe me, sell your 370z and buy the stang, maro, or brz/frs. We will see who is laughing in another 20 years. :tiphat:

P's_Z 02-15-2015 08:45 AM

You make a solid case USAF Control, however, i think that it will take more than 20 years for the 370 to be considered a classic. I just hope to be around and owning my Z by then... :icon14:

kenchan 02-15-2015 09:34 AM

im sure the 370z will be a classic for its great looks like the 240z.

edk370 02-15-2015 02:00 PM

MKIV Supra was rare in numbers

FD3S RX7 was rare in numbers

These two are classics...So I think the Z34 will be one too.
