Steering lock problem solved (for real)

Super easy. No wire cutting or serious work needed. You're smart to do this even with rev D. Small needle nose pliers are really all you need to remove the fuse. You will want a flat head screw driver to help remove the plastic clips that holds the battery compartment plastic down. Honestly, it should take less than 10 minutes to remove the two components to where you can pull out the fuse box enough to access it. Just familiarize yourself with this thread and refer to it as needed during the process. Once you have the fuse box out, turn the car to ACC or ON and then remove the fuse. Then reassemble everything you just took apart.
