Custom vented hood

The vertical edges are bare metal but you can't really tell from the pics. Other members such as Gaiiden and Danny GT have seen it in person and can attest to my friends craftsmanship. As for the DIY yourself, I'm still working on it since it's a lot of minute details and lots of pics. I also haven't gotten around to work on it since I started school already

Looks awesome and it's functional, if anyone was planning on supercharging, great way of dispersing some of the hot air. Worked great on my 03 cobra and similar style. In the winter, you could see the the hot air venting from the hood. The real question is how much did it cost you?

Love the idea of a vented hood and some vents in the front fascia. Cooler is better!

I have HKS short ram intake and to get cool air to it I got the Stillen brake cooling kit and ran the hoses through the space where the old intake was routed and have them dumping the outside air in front of the filters
I would love to put vents like the ones you installed in my hood
I live it NJ would your friend be interested in doing it to my car?
for a reasonable price?

With all respect for all your efforts.
From a style standpoint. It looks a lil awkward. Something makes it not match with hood design
And the white car probably makes it worse looking.
I think u still need to tinker with design on a looks standpoint.
Function standpoint... it sounds great. Just get those numbers out on ya research.

Yes I agree. I believe the angles I used could be swapped from side to side.

I apologize to all of you for the delay in getting the DIY. I've been trying to link up with him to no avail. I'll keep trying.

Ok I finally spoke with him and it turns out it was on the S2KI forum the whole time. Difference being is they just used preexisting holes on the hood whereas I just cut straight through the support bars. And yes it will be fine

Since those vents are in the high pressure area by the windshield, I'm not sure if its going to help as much as it would if the vents were closer to the front. Would love to see some temp data.

I just want some vents for when the cars parked. 2 hours after a drive in my garage my underwood temps can still burn. The hood needs a vent, anywhere!

Absolutely. My garage is still warm in the morning if I've been driving the car hard before I put it away. My entry level understanding of aero leads me to believe the best solution would be an extractor style vent over the gap between the overflow tank and front of the motor. That way you would get heat rising out at idle, and heat would be pulled out at speed.
