This statement doesn't follow physics. Faster airflow over the vents would create a Venturi effect due to lower pressure above (outside) the vents and pull air from the engine bay out through the vents. This would improve engine cooling at higher speeds.

We actually had this discussion over on the s2ki forums. Someone drew up an autocad design showing the airflow over the vents. Now I'm no expert but this was how it was explained to me. The airflow over the vents would be considered negative pressure. So unless you had some sort of scoop say ala STi or a dip on the hood itself, the vents wont be as efficient in dissipating heat at higher speeds. Again this was how it was explained to me. I hope you're right in this instance :D

Tell me what you guys think good or bad. BTW it might be a placebo effect but on the drive home I did seem to have lower temps than usual. I'll have to collect more data to substantiate my claim.

the second picture looks like a decal laying on the hood because of the glare...are there any closeups?

i would like to have this in conjuncion with ram air cut outs in the bumper on both sides...

did you have to have the hood repainted or did you just blend in the areas around the vents?

kdo2milger 09-09-2009 10:45 AM

these vents plus 2 ram air holes in the bumper directly infront of the intakes = gravy :yum:

with a side effect of cooler temps and fresh air intake
