AK approved. Looks good.

That's good that you guys do it for function and not just for looks. By the way it does look cool.
I hate it when there are kits that are out there and they have all these vents and what not, but there is no function to them. To me that's just a waste.

I will def do more pics tommorrow. Sorry for not posting the DIY but I have to get with my guy so he can give me the actual step by step instruction. He's the master cutter, I'm just an observer :D

Amazing Frifrac! I have never seen the vents on a 280ZX before. The designs have a striking resemblance! Keep in mind we came up with our design from scratch. I believe the only difference is the curvature of the vent. Ours is curved on the inside while the 280ZX is curved on the outside. Very interesting. +1 for you

Could someone photoshop the vents on the opposite sides please? With the angled curves on the outside. I would like to see how they would look.

I just did a quickie and flipped the vents horizonally in PS

Just so you get an idea

Nice - can you do PS with the 280ZX vents? Just curious - might be worth digging through the junk yard for....

Very nice looking. Looks great either way, but I think vents flipped out flows better with the shape of the headlights and the front grill.

Beautiful work nevertheless.

There are actually several different 280zx vents, those he pictured are the early ones, later models (81-83?) had a different style. And IIRC the turbos had different vents as well..

Heres a pic of the later version:

The 280z also had vents but only in the 77-78 years (the last two production years).

But looks good!

I never bothered with the 82-83/turbo vent pics as they are asymetrical. The '81 turbo had asymetrical vents but the '81 NA had vents like pictured above.

Only the '78 280Z had vents AFAIK the '77 didn't have vents - oh and good luck finding those....

This statement doesn't follow physics. Faster airflow over the vents would create a Venturi effect due to lower pressure above (outside) the vents and pull air from the engine bay out through the vents. This would improve engine cooling at higher speeds.
