What would you do if you had a month left?

Alright guys, I recently bought the car and found out that I have a month of warranty remaining on it so I went to the dealership to get a wheel bearing (hub assembly) replaced as the one on there went bad after 27k miles. It was discovered when I got my tires changed. :ughdance: I asked the service adviser if there are any recalls on the car or service bulletins and he said nope. I need your advice. I hear the ECU sound in my car and while it doesn't bother me, I would rather it didn't exist. What is the best way to approach this issue?

If you had a month of warranty remaining, what would you have them look at? I want them to see if my clutch and transmission are OK. Advice please. I have 28k miles and 3 years is almost gone.

Thanks

Good thread! I'm curious myself. Subscribed.

Well if you take it in, usually the dealer is going to charge a premature " diagnosis fee " that you may end up having to sign for to look at the vehicle regardless if its under warranty or not and if they don't find anything, you might be assessed a fee for the time looking into these issues and if something is found that is covered, naturally it will be fixed at no cost and if they find something else that isn't covered they will ask you get it fixed and if you decide not to they will then usually charge you for the original "diagnosis " or inspection fee for the dealers or techs time of looking over the vehicle

The fees may be according to state? Me I never been asked for a fee to have something checked that covered by warranty. As far as I know? As long as you report it before your warranty is up? They have to fix it even if it takes them past warranty end date. That's provided that they feel it is a warranty issue? But you may want to look at the back of your owners manual to see what rights you have in your state concerning manufacturer warranty...

there are certain issues nissan "may" take care of even if you are out of warranty upon discretion of the dealer depending on what it is??? Read up. On your specific warranty and talk to them bro.

are there broken treads in the seat covers. The car sits low and the twisting and dragging across the seat can tear the material. This was common on the 350Z's. This what as was out when I worked at dealer.

Any holes rubbed, burned, or snagged in the steering wheel leather? Women usually wanted an one from the discoloration on the light colored wheels on the Murano from them doing their makeup while driving. The wheels used to be $600 so if you can get a new one before the warentee is out it is a good thing. Because it is fake leather, you can't clean it. If it is stained the rubbing it with cleaners just messes it up more. We started replacing them no questions asked because there is no repair other than to replace it.

I think I have a tiny hole on the back of my wheel. I don't wear rings so I am not sure how it got there. I will have it remedied before it is out. No point is getting a new one before it is necessary.

If you haven't already I would get a new Steering Lock system since you have a 2009. Last thing you need is to get stranded because of this issue. There was also an issue with the latch on the trunk not opening up. I'll add links from the forum on these two issues later on. I'm on the same boat (have until Oct) but I'm in Germany and they handle things a little differently.

Here's a link to the Steering lock issue. All these links are with in the forum.

Under the warranty section is a lot of things that can potentially be looked at. I would suggest going through it and see what applies to you. Hope they can get everything before you have to pay out of pocket.

I agree with the above.

Steering lock to Revision D
Fuel senders replaced
Hatch springs

I believe there is a TSB for Oil Consumption...

I did get the Fuel Sending Unit replaced but there is not a TSB, I also got the hatch springs replaced there is TSB.

My key light came on but it was an open circuit on the Clutch Switch which it was bad and replaced by the dealer.

In addition I bought the Steering locking mech. Rev D out of pocket because I don't want to get stranded, especially going to ZdayZ.

Can you have the steering lock replaced if it has not yet failed? I am in the 2009 boat too.

From the title of the thread I thought this was going a different direction (ie month left to live--hookers and blow)

Month left on the warranty I'd do what is already mentioned and then go apes**t with mods.

Wondering the same thing. Is there a TSB for steering lock to be changed under warranty? lol

Also look into Security Gold Plus service agreement (extended warranty) if you think you'll need it. You have to buy it before the factory warranty runs out.

Thanks! How do I approach them to address these possible issues? Are there noises I could have them check out? Hatch is easy, it doesn't open.

Not sure about the others.
