Good thread! I'm curious myself. Subscribed.

+1....... Get the extended warranty if you can. If not I would have them check everything if they can like the 30k mile warranty (have them do it early). Let us know how everything goes.

I got my diff/tranny/engine oil changed to redline last week so I'm good on most of the 30k maintenance. I want to know regarding key things like notchiness in shifting. I thought redline would cure this entirely but it's not the case. :( I know the tranny is rough but I get a certain notchiness in third but even that is intermittent. I don't really want to get the extended warranty as I know a mechanic friend and I plan to get some mods that would probably void the warranty (exhaust/hfc).

Then the clutch. I try to feather it and it kind of rocks back and forth. This isn't my first manual tranny car but each car is slightly different. I feel like first gear is ever so slightly slipping for some reason.

Thoughts on how to get them to examine this?

:iagree:

hookers and blow...maybe drive a Veyron, climb Everest and win the Stanley Cup.

What exactly do they fix for the fuel senders?

Vbp6US 05-19-2012 11:25 AM

Bump.

Going to the dealership today to get the ECM noise, trunk lid, and clutch checked out. Any advice?

EDIT: Just got back from the dealership. I got them to hear the noise and finally pinpointed the noise coming from the ECM. Yay! We even hopped in a 2012 and guess what, no noise!

I think it would be difficult to get every point of the car inspected without some sort of cost. Most dealerships probably wouldn't be receptive to inspecting in detail parts that are not currently under any sort of complaint.

I would do as others suggested and look for every little minute detail and have them check out any issue you could find, minor or not.

Steering lock isn't going to be covered/replaced unless yours is failing... fuel sender won't be replaced/checked unless you have a reason to believe the level is off.

I have an appointment at 815 tomorrow. We shall see how things look like after the day is over.

Dropped the car off. We'll see what they say after they open it up.

So far nothing. Went there and they didn't initiate any work...I dropped it off for what? I'm getting cool with this service guy so I won't get pissed off just yet but if nothing happens tomorrow, I will start asking for names. I am currently driving 2012 Altima...wow. What a nice car. But that's a different subject. Yeah the Altima is ultimately not going to satisfy my needs and wants and everything I could wish for inbetween, so I just want my car back, fixed.
