If I owned a car long enough and it was totaled I'd probably replace it with something else. I had the Z for 18 months, so I'd have replaced it with something different if it was totaled then. If the Mustang gets whacked... I would probably get a GTR or something German.

There are just too many cars out there for me to try. Can't stick with one for too long.

I agree. However, in my case, when I got married it was a reason to get two new cars a year instead of one. I need to keep them longer, so instead we have 4 cars for two people, so I can still get the fever every year or so. I think I'm on vehicles 32-35 right now.

Did my homework, the Z is still on the top of my list. DD comfort and capability of taking just about anyone on the twisties if you're the better driver.

I do miss the neck snapping power of my 1969 Covette but I think I like having a heater and air conditioner more now. Not to mention 21.1 vs 12 MPG. Had it for over 20 years so it was time to move on to something new anyway. Also, I agree, everyone should own a Vette in thier lifetime.

For a track car in CA, I'd stay with a Smog Exempt vehicle.

 You couldn't say it better.

I want to say I would, but I just don't know. I've driven the 5.0 and liked it, but I don't think I could do one everyday. I might just buy something cheap, bank the money, and wait to see if Nissan puts some turbos on the Z in a couple years.

I know I could just TT a current Z, but being factory boosted makes everything so much easier. If I didn't get another Z it would definitely be something with a turbo under the hood.

I probably would not, as much as I love my Z, I would find it hard to go through all the mods done once again. I would likely go for a Porsche Panamera next.

Where did you move frosty frost?

LOL no need to keep up with Zuperman, he doesn't do offroad, you are way ahead with the B1adesmobile.

Copy cat? I am not a copycat:shakes head:

In seriousness, though, if I owned a car long enough and it was totaled I'd probably replace it with something else. I had the Z for 14 months, so I'd have replaced it with something different if it was totaled then. If the Mustang gets whacked... I would probably get a GTR or something German.

WTF, you have kids? I thought you were a kid! ;)

LakeShow 05-01-2012 12:35 PM

I would keep it. Not many cars better than the Z in its price range. If price range changes, then I would probably choose differently.

christian370z 05-01-2012 12:40 PM

If I were to look at comparably priced cars, I would hands down go with the Z. But right now, I want to get back into something with forced induction from the factor and is a bit older which is why I'm likely going to sell the Z and getting into a TT300ZX.

I most definitely would get another Z, but knowing what I know now, it would be a red Nismo.

I'd add leather seat covers, aftermarket nav system with back-up camera, and have Carbon Element do my interior trim in matte cf.

BigT 05-01-2012 01:10 PM

I wouldn't ONLY because my girl and I are starting to get serious and need the money. I would more than likely purchase a 25k or less vehicle.

However, if I was in the state of mind and reasoning as when I bought it, yes, I don't think there is any other car out there for the money. I love the way it looks, drives, handles, etc.
