Is it Normal

My office is on a busy high way. our parking lot runs the length of the building and is parallel to the high way. i park all the way at the end of the lot to stay away from everyone else and there doors. Apparently someone saw the car from the highway came back into our lot and took photos of my car. Now my car is dam sexy as we all know they are:icon17:.

this being only my 3rd day of driving her, Is this normal? should I get use to the life of a celebrity or should I worry and move my car closer to the office windows? or both?

sonic370 04-18-2012 08:26 PM

its a temporary thing, you get use to it after a while. Just be cautious when they start to ask you for a ride and try to be best buds with you after, their intentions are never good. :stirthepot:

jlo370z 04-18-2012 08:44 PM

everyone wants a ride, or to take it out, I have a if you can cut a check for the entire car you can, if not no way.... leaves about 2-3 people i know who id let drive it haha

After a few weeks of looking down your nose at everyone you'll turn very political and eventually start adopting kids from 3rd world countries. It happens to all of us Z drivers eventually. ;)

mhcoss 04-18-2012 10:47 PM

Haha! I have noticed people driving weird and aggressive around me all the time. Trying to race me from lights. Staring at me and shaking their heads at me.. I just lol at it all. I have also received a few compliments on the car but sadly I think I have gotten more negative remarks. People are just jealous that is all.

MacLean 04-18-2012 10:57 PM

Welcome & congrats on your new ride. Thumbs up on becoming famous & I'm glad your enjoying yourself. You are now the sh*t big guy. Be careful of the wrong kind of ladies out there.

Nismo89 04-19-2012 02:22 AM

happens everytime man, happens every time

take this for example.......... mustangs and comaro's do not get the head turns the Z does, because there are so G$d Damn many of them, its just become a " eh whatever, we've seen them before" type deal. (yes even the 5.0 lol despite the HP difference)

i was driving behind this mustang today and everyone from little kids to elderly couples exc, stopped, pointed and stared..... snapping pictures of...Not the Mustange, but the car behind it..... My Z.....

you buy a 370.... your gonna get looks, its a dayum sexy looking car, and it just turns heads regardless! :)

as for people wantinga ride.... they always ask me "hey let me take your car for a ride!, i wont hurt it" blah blah blah.... i bought the Z and its 2 seats for a reason!!!!! (knew it would come in handy) Me and my Girl! ONLY! (cept when parents demand the key..... then its a shamefl let down and "ok......" :( lol

LakeShow 04-19-2012 02:28 AM

If someone is taking pictures of your car and you happen to be walking back to your car would you wait for them to take pictures and leave or go up to your car while they are still taking pictures.

yes:stirthepot::stirthepot:

always get the same response and same look too, like "OH! THATS YOUR CAR?!?! I I I I was just taking a picture and admiring it" the Satisfaction feeling you get after you first hit the unlock door button and see the lights flash a few times and see the people's heads start glancing over this way and that way... is priceless. "who owns this? " lol:excited::stirthepot:

My favorite part is causing car alarms from the BMWs and Mercs to go off when I start my car at the local coffee shop, also causing some to jump a little.

You'll get used to it. Reminds me of my wife when she took her first drive with me. We were out just enjoying the nice weather on a Saturday, two dudes in a scion XB (generation 1) pull up with their camera phones and start taking pictures, my wife was a little scared by that, but what scared her the most was the fact that the driver was completely turned around facing us to take the picture with his phone while driving about 55.:bowrofl:

LakeShow 04-19-2012 08:59 AM

Honestly I haven't gotten any celebrity moments. :(

Bucketlist2012 04-19-2012 09:05 AM

I have actually gotten thumbs down at the light from haters in beater cars..

Like it is my fault that I have money and they don't...

Thumbs down and shaking their heads....

They wonder why they have nothing and drive beaters ? I don't..

Their hate and envy have them trapped for life...

Crazy World.. I guess my celebrity moment is not a good one...Oh well..

Huck 04-19-2012 10:21 AM

I was driving in Orlando the other day and I saw this dude in an old beater civic with rust holes and a ricer exhaust driving his fat wife and 3 kids around. He passed me and I see sparks coming out from under his car. I get a little bit closer and I see that it's coming from his tire where the wire belt is showing through. The tire was wearing badly because he had a crapload of negative camber in the front wheel. So anyway, his windows are down so I get up next to him at the light and I'm like "hey man your tire is about to go, you should get it checked out!". His response? He flipped me the bird and with a thick Spanish accent yelled "chinga tu madre, puto! And your sh!tty car too!". With that he mashed on the gas, and with the sound of rice burning he slowly accelerated away. I was a little confused, but just kinda laughed it off. I just hope he doesn't have an accident for the kid's sake.

I went to pick up my carry out dinner a couple weeks ago, when I got home (townhome community) some lady, mid 40s I'd guess, had pulled up to my car. She had followed me home. I was thinking this person thought I cut them off or something and they wanted to yell at me for what ever they had perceived had happened. Turns out she's seen me around town numerous times and is in love with my Z. She followed me home to tell me she loved my car...I was a little weirded out by it and wasn't sure if my car was going to be on blocks the next morning lol. Luckily she was just being genuine but it was still very strange.

Another time I was at the gas station vacuuming my car out and some guy came peeling off the highway into the parking lot like a bat out of hell. I was thinking wtf is with this guy he made such a racket. yeah, he pulls up to my car and starts going on about how hot my car was. I think I was more weirded out by this situation, having a guy tell you your car is "hot" around Baltimore is not exactly what I'm going for.

All in all just take it with a smile and say "Thank you, I like the car a lot too!". So yes get yourself some shades, those flashes get bright = P

I have an acquaintance w a GTR and the first week I had the car he saw it from the street (didn't know it was mine) and pulled into the parking lot to check it out so I know for certain that this happens. I've also caught people taking pictures of my car at stop lights.

My Z seems to attract more guys than girl XD

A lot of guys will wave from their cars when I drive the Z, but several of the girls I hang out with have said that they like the G37 better because of the red interior. smh

I tell everyone I signed an insurance clause stating no one else is covered driving the vehicle to insure my cheap rates of insurance. Therefore no one else can drive it because it won't be insured.

JARblue 04-19-2012 03:02 PM

That doesn't surprise me... My wife really wanted a G37, but we knew we weren't going to push the budget that far. She still wants a G sedan, but I'm liking the whole one car payment thing we got going on right now. Not really interested in another car payment, especially if it's more than the Z.

Even if you actually did do this, anyone who has decent insurance of their own is covered if they drive your car. My insurance will cover any car I'm driving to the full extent of my policy (unless on the track :p).

2 things happened to me recently:

1) 3 sexy ladies pulled up next to me and got me to roll down my windows to tell me that my car was 'oh my gawd so hawt' and I was cute (naturally). I asked them how old they were and they told me.. 17. I had a pretty good feeling they were 16/15 so I left it at 'oh my gawd thx' and drove off. :driving:

2) I was at the mall chatting with my friend at her store.. and I saw a 15-ish kid checking out my car. He stuck his nose right up against my side window to look inside cuz it's tinted.. when I went back out I noticed he left a sizeable spot of SNOT on my window. SNOT. It was 'not' hawt. :icon14:

Side note - I've been looking at this emoticon for weeks. WTF is it supposed to be? A butt crack? A belly button? :icon23:

Yes, but 99.9% of the people get the point and not dig into it like people on an internet forum would. lol

gsxr750 04-19-2012 03:28 PM

The real reason someone came down and took pictures of your car was to add it to a list of prospective cars to steal, in a thieves data base for easy cars to steal.

Basically they take a picture of the car, note year make model, note exactly where its parked, location date and time. For when they get an order to steal one, like yours.

This is why its never really good to leave your car parked out in one location for a long amount of time.
