All I get is the occassional "Hey man nice car" at the gas station.

The "Oh nice car..is it fast" from the girls at the gym if I park it up front. But I think someone just stole my thunder as another guy just got a brand new 5.0 yesterday and was showing it off. Hmm maybe I need to trade in already...not

And last and not least someone knocking on my window as I am about to drive off and its some old lady asking me for gas money to get home.....ummm how did you get to the store if you didn't have gas to get back?

Then there is the honda's trying to race me and/or cut me off if I don't.

This is why its never really good to leave your car parked out in one location for a long amount of time.

i think this is true in some areas. in my case if my garage door is open and i see the same car pass more than twice within a short time (2-3min), they get vid'ed on my camera. i keep an old Flip camera in the garage. and i let them know they are being taped cause im standing there with my video camera panning at them while they pass by. usually they dont come back after that.

My Z story!

I was joining some friends for our weekly breakfast at a local cafe. (It's what retired people do) I was able to park my Black Cherry 370Z Roadster right in front of the cafe and as I walked in a couple had noticed the car. The guy was really interested and asked a ton of the usually questions, which I answered with enthusiasm as I always do to anyone who shows the interest. .... but his scowling really overweight wife look at my Z and at me and said very sarcastically "It looks like a Mid Life Crises to me"!!! Again, this woman was very sarcastic. I was taken back a little..... and responded: "why thank you so very much" I said, "I guess that means I'm going to live 140 years as I will be celebrating my 70th birthday in a few months"! Things got very quite until my friends started laughing and joking about my mid life crises car. Mid life crises! I wish! I love my Z, i love to drive it, and I love the positive attention it gets from almost everyone.

ShinyBlueZ 04-19-2012 05:13 PM

cuz she was a fatty & knew she could never fit in there. jealousy. I get that too from poorly employed peeps. they try hard to come up with criticisms to try to convince themselves that even with our riches they would still drive their ford focus and not buy our sexinesses.

juicypinkkk 04-19-2012 05:18 PM

2 sexy for the road the Z is..

I would let them take the photos assuming they do not look ghetto, or could possible steal my ride.

+1......her fat a** probably couldn't fit in there to begin with & the seats would be all stretched out FOR SURE. People will always be envy of what other's have. There is nothing that you can do about it.

this is what i was thinking too. today i parked by the windows where i use to always park, and there is always someone sitting by those windows.

i dont have a 9-5 same place every day job so i should not worry to much, but hopefully its more along the lines of my hotness (car included :happydance:) LOL

common scam at gas stations, parking lots, etc. you'll probably see her again asking other people in the same place later.

back on topic. i had some guy in a truck follow me off the highway and pull up next to me all fast at a light. i thought he wanted to race? but he just stopped to tell me he liked my car. why couldn't it be a woman? :icon17:

best was when i was getting out of my car and a little kid walked up to me and asked "is that your racecar?" :excited::D

mhcoss 04-19-2012 07:20 PM

I got out of my car yesterday and a little boy came running up to me and said very enthusiastically

"Now that is what I call a car!!"

Made me smile

I don't think any of us have actually answered the main question as to "Is it Normal...?"

My answer is no, its not normal by any means, people are weird.

first day in the car i was stopped at a light next to a civic...girl in the backseat (who would have been hot if not for her effed up grill) stares for a couple seconds and then yells, "oh my gawd look at that car!!!" delayed reaction reminded me of a baby screaming...pretty funny.

Got a thumbs down from a guy driving a beater 4.6L stang, he had his ball cap cocked off to the side obviously way cooler than me. :shakes head:
Washington is a pretty snobby state, I get compliments from time to time but for the most part they're a pretentious lot.

:icon18: Sucks to be in the other car. I kind of feel sorry for that damn guy.

Yes this is normal. ESPECIALLY if you look out for it. It makes me feel great! For me it kinda validates the fact that I worked very hard to own something nice. In the last few months Ive had the following situations happen:

1. A guy at a 4-way stop waved me by (when he clearly had the right of way). He then got behind me and at the next light got out of his car and snapped pictures.

2. A little kid got out of his parents truck at the gas station and started drooling over my car. His dad says "yeah he loves those fast and the furious cars." I then let the kid sit in the driver seat so his dad could snap a couple pictures of him. The kids smile was priceless!!

3. I had my car parked outside of my apartment and from the third floor, I could hear some teenage kid telling his friend "no way! No way! Look at this thing!" as he tried to look into my windows.

4. Got the thumbs up from 2 guys passing me on mororcycles on the freeway.

5. Got the thumbs up from 2 kids in the backseat of a car.

6. Last week driving by a restaurant, 2 HOT girls were walking in and the one stopped her friend mid stride and pointed at my car as I drove by.

Lol, That was what I was just thinking reading this post. The women are always looking for the bright/shiny things. :bowrofl:

Mecinoid 04-23-2012 12:56 AM

Actually, My wife gets a lot more compliments than I do in the Z.

I guess sex in pure sex is better than old dude sex. Lol

Well, not really. I get questioned almost everytime I'm at the gas station or 7-11. It's easier for people to approach you there it seems.

My buddy is on this thing telling everyone how much nicer my Z is than our Vettes. I have to correct him by saying. The Z makes a great sports car. The Vette is just short of a race car my friend. But, then everyone asks me to bring the Z next time. To a Vette Car Show. It's just weird. I guess they appreciate the finer things in life and they aren't afraid to say something is nice if it is. At least the group I've been hanging around with. I can't think of a better compliment. Then again this weekend, he's telling all our buddies that we were camping with how nice my 370Z was; NOT my Vette. So weird... I think he must be thinking about getting one. I just took one ride to 7500rpm and super quick paddle shift session to convert him.... :happydance:
